Tell me what you really think

    As I type this, it has been a downpour of rain for the past hour. (I am sitting next to an open window)

    I was watching an episode of MASH. At the end of the show, I decided to see what else was on TV. So I turned to the program selection station. As I was scrolling thur, I notice that our local team, the Syracuse Chiefs (AAA - Washington Nationals) was playing on Time-Warner Sports station

    So I flipped to channel 26, what do I see on the screen, a message saying that the game had been rained out.

    What was I thinking?

    Yes, it is still raining.

    I think every sport should be played in the rain. This goes for Baseball, Nascar, Golf, & even Boxing.

    Boxing is normally an indoor sport, but it should be played outdoors in a ring. I think the rain & the leather of the boxing gloves would make landed punches more interesting. Sometimes if you get the right amount of moisture on a boxing glove & a punch is landed in a certain manner it will open up your opponent.

    Since you asked, I think that sports are a war substitute and should be conducted in the rain because the accident and injury rate would increase.

    I think that many people would pay bug bucks to see fights to the death in the arena. It would kill two birds . . . Felons could be given special deals for 5 kills. This would eliminate 80% of the worst inmates in the prisons. Cities could pay off new arenas in a couple of years.

    WAtching the footy played in the rain adds that certain something....the flying skids, boys getting REALLY dirty, the buckets of water sloshed at the dripping heroes so they can be IDENTIFIED.....the laundry persons crying into their respective brews.....the ball being like a greasy pig.......bring it on:laugh:

    the only thing better is when the game is in fog..........:thumbsup:
