    The Issue:

    Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) President Robert Gates is calling for a repeal of their decades-old policy of banning openly practicing homosexuals from leadership in the Scouting program saying, "it's the right thing to do."

    We strongly object to Mr. Gate's assessment on morality!

    If enacted, this repeal will lead to yet another drastic decline of an organization that once made a positive contribution to the moral climate of our nation.

    Liberty Counsel's many suporters are calling on the BSA to ...

    NOT FURTHER COMPROMISE its moral integrity.
    NOT CAVE IN to those who promote social engineering within the ranks of the BSA, and
    NOT ALLOW POLITICAL CORRECTNESS to destroy the character and effectiveness of the Scout leadership and movement.
    Take Action:

    Time is of the essence! Liberty Counsel will be hand-delivering petitions to the Boy Scouts of America on Friday, June 5, calling upon the BSA leadership to refuse to abandon their long-standing policy of organizational restrictions on leaders who engage in openly homosexual practices.

    We are praying for at least 50,000 signatures on this petition!

    The Petition to the BSA leadership states:

    To the Members of the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors:

    We, the undersigned citizens of the United States of America, believe the BSA's executive and board-level leadership must not shift the organization's moral compass for President Gate's erroneous reasons.

    We strongly exhort you to stand strong!

    DO NOT COMPROMISE on your longstanding commitment to moral integrity and high values by changing your restrictions on openly practicing homosexual leadership.

    DO NOT CAVE IN to those who promote social engineering within the ranks of the BSA.

    DO NOT allow political correctness to undermine your commitment to building character in the youth of America.

    DO NOT allow the pressure of certain board members or corporate sponsors to further the demise of the BSA.

    We strongly encourage you to keep the BSA organization and its members doing your duty to God and country, reaffirming your goal to be "physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."

    Just wondering if the Girl Scouts would hire my 20 YO G-son? By liberal logic he should be a perfect fit.

    Yeah, why can't a guy be a Girl Scout leader by this logic?

    (sigh) You knew this was coming when the BSA put Gates aka "Mr. Repeal DADT" in charge, no matter what he said at the time. It's time to bail.

    I disagree with expecting the BSA as a whole to hold a moral compass. Granted, there are many Christians who are involved in the organization. It is not, however, a Christian organization. It is secular. NEVER look to worldly organizations to uphold Christian morals. They will ALWAYS be or become a microcosm of society and will ultimately reflect the morals of that culture.

    The problem with the Boy Scouts is Robert Gates. He messed with the military's long time "don't ask, don't tell" and put gays in the foxhole! Now he is pushing Obama's gay agenda in a stoic young boys/men's association!
