I was thinking the following had to be in the top 10:
"This thread is closed."
In our house, it's "just sayin'" LOL
i heard that!!!
I laughed and told my husband about the thread and when I was done, I said "Just sayin'" He rolled his eyes and said "That should be #1." LOL
Must confess two phrases drive me bonkers:
"You know",,,,and ending a sentence with, "eh!"
"Well, you know, this thread is closed, eh."
(and for the record, if there's a rolling pin involved as punishment, it's entirely due to TinyTim's influence on me. I was a good boy at one point...he has led me down the wayward path, dont'cha know....)
"Back in the day..."
It is what it is.
"I was like.....y'know what I'm sayin, I mean, you know, just sayin"
"Init" (abbreviation for "isn't it")
"at this point in time" (What's wrong with "now" ?)
"Whatever!" (as a way of saying, "You do/say/think what you want; it doesn't matter to me!")
"Like" as a filler word
is that "eh" a Canadian dilemma?
"At the end of the day" has been tiresome lately.
My opinion is that "whatever" is about the most annoying statement, generally employed by those who are immature and dismiss a person due to being defeated.
The worst phrase to me in 2010 seemed to be "not so much." It seemed to catch on around here and is way over used.
Another couple of personally annoying phrases, are when some talk of versions, typically the ESV and NASB, and use the words "clunky" and "wooden". Sometimes you see a word used so much you just auomatically dismiss all else that was said.
"Deal with it".
As a Browns fan, hearing "it's a process" from Mangini. :BangHead:
So is firing head coaches.
