Tenn school shooting

    Brothers and sisters:

    You are no doubt seeing news about a school shooting in metro Knoxville, Tennessee. This school, Campbell County High School, is my alma mater and I live only 4 miles from the school. At this time, at least one person is dead, and two other administrators are in critical condition. I covet your prayers for those affected, and for the county as a whole. Spiritually, though the county contains over 250 churches in a county with a population of around 45,000, the unchurched rate is around 90%. Spiritual darkness reigns, even amongst the churches, which are predominantly IFB and pentecostal. Please pray for us here in Campbell County. I'd appreciate prayers, too, as I do crisis counseling and am waiting by the phone.

    The surviving principal and vice principal are in serious condition tonight. Both have undergone surgery. Classes are canceled throughout the county until next Monday. Grief counseling will be provided.

    I cannot go into a lot of detail, but it was just another senseless gun-at-school occurence that went very badly.

    God, heal our land.
