My stance may not be 100% correct on the Lord-taught Prayer in Matt 6:9-

When I attended Methodist or Presbyterian churches, we used to memorize the Lord taught Prayer. But since I attended so-called Plymouth Brethren, I have never memorized or recited the Lord-Taught Prayer during the past 20 years, which I believe is correct.

Jesus said " after this manner", which doesn't mean that we should repeat the ready-made Prayer like a Liturgy. Moreover, it was given before the Crucifixion, the great Sacrifice where Jesus cried " Father FORGIVE them, for they know not what they do"
Didn't God the Father forgive all of our sins? Doesn't the Resurrection show the acceptance of His Sacrifice? How was the cry that IT IS FINISHED?

After Jesus completed the His Redmption Work, where can we find any verse which asks us for the forgiveness of our sins, without connecting the forgiveness at the Cross?

In the Lord-Taught Prayer, can we find " we thank God for thy beloved Son who paid all the price for our sins even including our daily committed disobedience" ? Why is it so? Because the prayer was taught before the Cross.

After the Cross, we had to be born again first, by believing what Jesus has done at the Cross.
After the Being Born Again, whenever we find our mistakes, stupidity, laziness, our hot temper, we repent and become broken hearted and confess our sins to God, then God forgive us by revealing the Cross where Jesus paid all the price for our sins. Then we thank Jesus again, saying how precious Jesus is, and how wonderful His sacrifice is.
Isn't this normal?

If we ask God to forgive our sins, yes, God direct us to the Cross again. He forgive us by reminding us of the Cross, and He doesn't show another sacrifice for our sins, other than Jesus Christ. If we repeat this kind of confession thousand times, can we not expect that God will forgive us our sins by revealing the Cross again where our sins were already forgiven? Therefore the target of our confessing our sins to God will be to learn and re-discover what Jesus has done at the Cross, so that we may be forgiven by God by rediscovering even the sins in question was also included in the forgiveness at the Cross.

 

You have no experience in hearing answer from God when you prayed because you may have never been born again.

 

God faithfully answers with forgiveness - the forgiveness we already have IN JESUS -- not in ourselves ever, the first time just as after the supplicant had been reborn.
