    Obama walks arrogance line
By RON FOURNIER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Arrogance is a common vice in presidential politics. A person must be more than a little self-important to wake up one day and say, "I belong in the Oval Office."

But there's a line smart politicians don't cross — somewhere between "I'm qualified to be president" and "I'm born to be president." Wherever it lies, Barack Obama better watch his step.

    He's bordering on arrogance...

    SNIP

...But both Obama and his wife, Michelle, ooze a sense of entitlement.

Anyone who even thinks about running for president, who wants the job, must be a little crazy.

It would be simpler to put all the names of the people who want the job in a big barrel and have a nude child (so no cheating) pick a name. Could we do any worse than recent experience?

    No doubt Obama is arrogant.

But in reality are not all men/women that get to this level of politics arrogant?

Yes, I do believe this is true. There is a certain level of arrogance generally speaking that goes along with thinking/knowing you can do a job of this magnitude.

I just recently picked up on his change in tone to one of arrogance.

Was it me or is he gradually changing?

Yes, I agree that anyone that gets to that level does have some arrogance. They have all had their moments.. I remember something about Bush and his line was... "I am the decider..." That was an arrogant tone, but maybe that was what was needed.. Who knows why someone thinks they can or should be President. It's sure nothing I ever dreamed of. :saint:

Of course, having the lifetime benefits would be nice...

Great observation, I think this applies to all our elected officials. A lot of Pastors also.

How can you get people to support and believe in you if you don't believe in yourself?

I think a person can believe in himself but still demonstrate humility.

Maybe both, or it could be he has always been that arrogant and is now just revealing himself. I find it amazing that all the threads about Hillary have gone away. Everyone on the first page relates to Obama. It seems we go through periods of time where everyone thinks a certain person is going to win. No doubt another Hillary wave will come in the near future.

For sure it can be done. There are many who do acheive this balance.

Unfortunately, a lot of us don't...
