Bible Version Debate Resolved in Seven Easy Steps:

    (1) Read Isa. 61:1-2 (any version).

    (2) Read the same passage as it appears in the Bible Jesus read from in Lk. 4:18-19 (any version).

    (3) Compare the exact wording of the two passages and note that they are different versions of the same passage.

    (4) Read Isa. 53:7-8 (any version).

    (5) Read the same passage as it appears in the Bible the Ethiopian eunuch read from and Philip overheard in Ac. 8:32-33 (any version).

    (6) Compare the exact wording of the two passages and note that they are also different versions of the same passage.

    (7) Conclusion: Since the Scriptures clearly tell us that Jesus and the early disciples had no qualms about using different versions, any form of One-Version-Onlyism is unscriptural.

Very funny website. I thought it was a "spoof" site (with lots of tongue-in-cheek) but sadly found it was genuine.

Think we could stop the debate by simply sticking our head in the sand.

Oh, wait, that's already being done!

But now we can't do that no more

Sorry, Kidz, but I read that entire site several years ago, and saw it was the same ole garbage in a different dumpster. I recommend you start shopping around for some new stuff.

Kidz, please don't take the following words the wrong way, but please take them as advice from a man who will be 56 on the 22nd of this month, and who's been a Christian since Thanxgiving 1979-almost 7 years before you were born-and who wishes well for EVERY Christian bro/sis.

You see, ALL the stuff on these various KJVO websites, & ALL the old KJVO arguments have been stale for someone like me for many years. I saw them all long before the net was invented. I've answered virtually every one of'em at one time or another. I've been doing it since before you were born.

I see you're simply inexperienced. Now, that's NOT intended to be a slam on you, but it IS a cold, hard, fact. You see, I've followed all the bunny trails found in KJVO literature from Wilkinson to modern authors such as Riplinger or Moorman, and found that THEY SIMPLY AREN'T TRUE! One prominent example was just posted in another thread. It is Riplinger's comments about a debate that supposedly took place between John Calvin & James Arminius. Seeing as how Arminius was born in 1560 & Calvin died in 1564, this musta been SOME debate! Musta been moderated by Barney the purple dinosaur!

Please take the time to check out the veracity of the "facts" you find on those KJVO sites or literature, & you may save yourself some embarassment. And hopefully you'll see just how silly the entire KJVO myth is. In essence, it seeks to LIMIT GOD by saying no other BV could POSSIBLY be God's word, and that God CANNOT present/provide His word AS HE CHOOSES.

At this time, you simply don't have the knowledge or experience to even begin to defend the KJVO myth. Perhaps with time & study you'll see it's totally false. Might I suggest you start with finding out why you should believe a doctrine ABOUT SCRIPTURE that is NOT SUPPORTED WHATSOEVER by Scripture?

This site (like many other similar pages) unfortunately starts with the desired endpoint and then works backwards. If that doesn't bother the reader then OK! If however one wants an intellectually honest approach and discussion this is not it.

I too thought it was a spoof site. In fact, one of the reasons was "A public spanking for James White". I thought that HAD to be a joke.

Its actually quite an unchristian attitude.

I certainly do hope that you realize that there is nothing new here and that maybe you posted this in jest?

If not, I certainly do hope you keep your opinions to yourself and not share them with the children and youth you teach.

Even though the Granny has no SCRIPTURAL BASIS for what she says about BVs, & pretends to not know that KJVO has been proven to be a myth.

    It's called discernment.

You have proven only your ignorance.

Sorry AA, the word is not discernment, but willful ignorance or her part, which she admitted when she would not read a MV, or even look at a pro-MV website. Ignorance is contagious, and the KJVO's spread ignorance and misinformation like a good Russellite.

Granny's NOT but days older than all you guys either! Dr. Bob says I'm older than DIRT (53) and he's older than ME by 3 years! Robycop is 56, one year younger than Granny (We wished her happy birthday last December), and Ed's older too. Watchman is a mere baby at 51~

I've been saved 46 years, for the record. I use the New King James and hope everyone uses the version they'll read and comprehend. [IMG] Just READ!

Oh Dear! Do you realize how old we all are! YIKES!

What on earth is a Russellite? I'm just now finding out what a Ruckmanite is! [IMG]

Orvie~is it ignorant to only be true to one? I mean, the kjBible has never failed me, so why would I have a desire to stray from truth?

Phillip baby, I haven't tried to make you throw away your book of choice, have I? After all, it's your life. :D

Thanks Anti-A for standing up to big bad roby. He don't really skeer me; he just lacks discernment...can I say that? [IMG]

GRANNY, YOU'RE ONLY 57? Why you little sneaky person, you! I'll take you to the woodshed. I'll be 47 in August, so you couldn't have even been my mother. Unless, of course you started at ten years old (which I highly doubt). [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Oh Phillip~I am NOT sneaky, just wise! I used to have my b'day showing(Dec 6, 1946), till they started making a big fuss here(I hadn't come back officially in Dec, so didn't see it); but since I "don't do" birthdays, I decided to remove it & miss the "party". I truly have not meant to deceive. Honest injun.

Being married 40yrs to one man, the ONLY man I've ever known, raising 6 children, & trying to survive in a modern world makes a granny feel old. The only glorious thing I can say about it is, when the Lord saved me 50yrs ago, He saved me for keeps! [IMG]
