This thread is not about Dr Ruckman, is it? But, since it keeps coming up, how many times has he been married? I don't know. Do you know the circumstances involved in his divorce and remarriage? I don't, so I won't comment on it. All I have said is that I have read some of his books, know some of his former students, and I've seen some of his videos. None of the stuff you people keep bringing up have I heard from any of those sources I mentioned. Am I to take your word for it? Maybe you are right. But what is your point in telling it to me? Are you just trying to destroy a man's reputation? Peter Ruckman is just a man, so is Jack Hyles, and so am I. I don't place them or myself on a pedestal, so in my view, there is no need for them or myself to be knocked off. Maybe you see it otherwise.

    Blammo,

I'd like to apologize for my tersely worded messages to you. I don't, however, apologize for my feelings about ruckman though..!

Anyhow, So far, the Biblical Evangelist has been fine, the KJVO issue was raised in this previous issue a bit, and I'll admit, some of the language used towards those of us who read KJV, kinda made my eyebrows curl... But other than that. I liked it. I guess there's a fine line between reading the KJV, and preferring it, than the extremists view of it... (which is what was being discussed in that article, which was a letter from a KJVO extremist)

The real COOL part about the paper is, that it is FREE!

Which makes me wonder, why ain't the sword of the Lord free?

    Makes one wonder.

The reason the SOTL is not free is that John R. Rice made a decision in 1936 that the SOTL would be run in a business-like manner, though of course not for profit. (I have heard him say, "Millions of dollars have gone through these hands, but thank God, none of it stuck!") Therefore from the start there were subscription prices and advertising, though he was criticized for it. Say what you want about Dr. Rice's decision, the SOTL is still in operation 70 years later, and many other worthy Christian papers and magazines have gone by the wayside. :type:

Agreed. The problem is, it has been taken over by a KJV cultist/IFBx idiot and been turned into a Independent Fundamental Baptist newspaper, of which it was NEVER, EVER intended to be!

I make no bones about it, I DON'T like Dr. Sheldon Smith, Not one bit. He should have stayed in the SBC. and I can guess that ya'll know why!

I've never seen a man sooooooo FULL OF HIMSELF!

Have received the paper off and on for the last few years. Have to say I like it more than the Sword. I'm not a fan of Shelton Smith.
