Yes Clinton has by far pardoned more People than Bush.
For those who are keeping score:
    Clinton--- 147
    Bush------115

If only Bush should decide to pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean it might reveal that he does have some Christian compassion in doing the right thing.
    Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Poppy Bush pardoned gun runners drug dealers and terrorists, among others. Orlando Bosch (terrorist) is my favorite, with the Iran Contra guys (drug dealers and gun runners) coming in second.

"Yer either with us or with the terrorists" Bush Jr.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself either. Pardon me... I must have one of those unpatriotic grudges against hypocrites or something.

So this begs the question; Why all the condemnation on GWB for this one pardon, which is totally justified, when these other presidents have pardoned all these truly evil people? Where was the self righteous indignation at Clinton, and GHWB?

Please be more specific. Which pardon are you tallking about?
You couldn't be talking of Scooter Libby, he wasn't pardoned. Are we talking of a future pardon or a pardon for someone else?

Yes I misspoke. Should have said why all the hoopla over Bushes commutation of Scooter's sentence?

The list of Clinton pardons runs above 500.

I beg your Pardon, Hillclimber but one of the sources that I have looked up has stated Clinton's pardons number 456, so I have to revise my previous stated total. The person with the most pardons in Presidential history is ,drum roll please--ta da, Franklin D. Roosevelt with 3687. This according to jurist.law.pitt.edu @http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/pardonspres1.htm

For the record, Scooter Libby has already paid his $250K fine that he also received as part of his sentence.
And as for the Clintonista's attacking W on this, just another case of hypocrisy...that is all it is; however you decide to define "is".

Did the political prisoners of WWII make up most of those pardons ?

That would be my guess Bro. Curtis. Statistics can only say so much and on this issue one would have to consider the events that were happening during each indiviual Presidents time.
I was up and down on my opinions of Libby, in the end I had to conclude that he was somewhat a victim who got caught up in the politcal nastiness and he was entrapped into commiting perjury. But this is something I expect to see these days, it's not right and our elected officials could make better use of their time than to keep up this Political posturing but this too is what I have come to expect from both Democrats and Republicans. Electing those to serve the will of the American people has taken a backseat to the priorities of grabbing power and enabling themselves to stay in power.

    Mr

Actually, all these Presidents are WAY down on the list of Presidents giving pardons. At the top are:

    BY NUMBER
    Franklin D. Roosevelt 3687
    Woodrow Wilson 2480
    Harry S. Truman 2044
    Calvin Coolidge 1545
    Herbert Hoover 1385
    Ulysses S. Grant 1332
    Lyndon B. Johnson 1187
    Dwight D. Eisenhower 1157
    Grover Cleveland * 1107
    Theodore Roosevelt * 981

    Clinton 147

    Bush (incomplete term) 115

I have a feeling that for several of these the high number of pardons is war related.

You're kidding, right? Are you saying that Libby isn't a bad guy? Wow: I certainly hope not.

You're kidding, right? I think El Rushbo called it "Pardongate," didn't he? There was a tremendous amount of outcry, most notably Mr. Rich. You either have a selective memory, or you are in willfull denial.

Why is it every time someone questions a Bush their supporters automatically try to turn the discussion to Bill Clinton? And what makes people think that because one president did something questionable, unethical or unconstitutional in the past it's okay for another in the present or future to do the same?

Shouldn't they all be held to the same standards of accountability? I know these questions are moot because we don't really care to hold any of them accountable for their misdeeds. Not when there are so many smaller fish that are easier to fry (then pardon and promote) instead.

    You're kidding, right?
Libby is a VERY bad guy, and nobody can dispute that. Did you read the charges against him - the ones for which he was convicted? A good guy wouldn't do something like that.

Oh, and by the way, perhaps you can get this bad guy's novel:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9983010/

Now, what kind of deviant mind comes up with a story like this?

You are absolutely right. If he didn't remember, he simply should have said that, thus avoiding committing the crime of perjury. Libby is an attorney, and knows better.

Interesting that you would use the phrase "show trial." I know the source of that phrase.....

I know the source of this viewpoint as well, and wonder if you know who Rich's attorney is/was.....

Likewise, hope all is well with you and yours,

Which is by far overshadowed by your fixation with Rush.

Again, isn't it interesting that so much of what Rush says somehow shows up on this board, many times almost verbatim?

I believe you are the #1 Rush tuner on this board, but I see nothing wrong with that other than you don't hear what he says. Open your mind, and allow conservatism to drive the liberal brainwashing from you.
