Bro. David, Jon just called from the road saying he was making a delivery in the companies big truck and was stuck just a few hundred yards behind his dad so he'll be late getting in but has to make a delivery to Charlotte tomorrow morning! Poor kid still has the truck to load tonight and then usually leaves about 4 a.m. to beat that Atlanta traffic. It's horrible! I won't drive past the airport exit (Thorton Road).

Hope Sue got to talk with her birthday son this afternoon. She said she'd be offline til she could talk with him.

Close to us, Gib? Close enough to drop by? We'd LOVE to have you!

Blackbird and Miriam and the kids are hoping to come right after Christmas! Helen and Barry will vouch for how sweet I am! LOL. Gayla and Carl can vouch for me too. StandAskWalk has actually spent the day here with his wife and kids.

I wish I could. My Sister lives in Kennesaw (sp?). I told her it's strictly business and every breathing minute has been scheduled. She did not take that very well.

I'll have 2 other folks with me and 1 company car. I can call her from the hotel for free! That will have to do.

I thought it might be a 'church' trip. Maybe next time!

Your sister lives about 40 miles from me. That's neat!

She has a 3 year old and two, 1 yr olds and they're not twins.

She said she will wait for me at the hotel. I told her that she shouldn't wait up for me. The Red Carpet lounge doesn't close until 2am.

Boy Howdy, all. Back on line for a couple while supper is cooking. Soup (had major dental work this afternoon with novacaine in THREE places) for an old man who drools!

So Gib is travelin' and Dan is multi-posting? Miss anything else while working today?

Yep. If I had my choice, the nerves that are dead would be in my MOUTH not my feet.

    (Okay, I hear the foot-in-mouth jokes a-comin')

And now I know why I don't usually eat store-bought soup. Blechh. Campbells Spicy Chicken and Vegetable chunky soup.

Would not get my highest recommendation. Hey. That gives me an idea for a topic!

Ouch... I made a wonderful homemade turkey soup today. Wish you were close by! I did add okra but left it whole so I could scoop it out for me. YUM...

    Good evening, everybody!!

Fear/apprehension/dread of dental work is all in your head. If you THINK it's going to be bad, it WILL be bad! Think POSITIVE!!! :D

Have been unbelievably, incredibly, extraordinarily busy at work the last two days (plus over the "alleged" holiday weekend), so have been too tired to "chat" when I get home. But thought I would check in tonight to make sure everyone is behaving themselves. And I see you're having cat fights in soup kitchens while mouths are numb and you can't eat anything anyway! Ho-hum...nothing new, I see!!! [IMG] [IMG]

    Have a good evening!

Well, I just received notice that my Internet service
will be terminated in one week. The company is
kaput. Will I finally get my real computer hooked
up, or will I find myself going through BB with-
drawal? My husband just finished painting the
computer room, so I need to get in there and
rearrange things so that someone can come and
see what is wrong with my modem.

I did, CJ. I was POSITIVE it was going to hurt . . and it did. I was POSITIVE my mouth was going to be numb for 5 hours and I would drool all over myself . . and I did.

Thanks! Positive thinking pays! See my teeth now? :D

Did all our UK friends give up on the BB? Usually they are SIGNING ON in the a.m. when us night owls on west coast of the US are heading to bed.

Oh, well. Another giant day tomorrow. Banking and bookwork, then a big funeral.

Gal who died quit my church (I was pastor 91-96) when her daughter was killed in a car accident. Never went back and blamed God. 35 years later and she still could not be reached.

She died and is with the Lord, but a lot of wasted years. Will not be an easy funeral, compared to a faithful church member.

But she still loved the Lord. Her password to the computer was John3_16. That tells me something. Will mull it over and make the final draft of the funeral service in the a.m.

Good Morning all! I waited up for hubby last night because he had mentioned the night before he wished I had been awake... YAWN... so slept in til 7:30 this morning!

Dr. Bob, That is so very sad about the lady from church who stopped coming after her daughter was killed. I do believe she's with her savior, but like you said.... wasted years! I'm praying for the Lord to give you the right words to say today to maybe touch another hardened heart.

Hope those teeth are MUCH better today!

C.J., I can imagine all the extra work piled on the pastor's secretary this time of year too! I was worried you'd gotten the flu or had an emergency. Glad you're just busy!

Okay all, going to check the rest of the board and then got things to do. Have a blessed day!

Even he will think Blackbird is one  [IMG] 'ly preacher!!!

Reminds me of the time I drove my first husband to
the dentist for some extractions of wisdom teeth.
They gassed him. He had not been able to eat all
day, in preparation for the dental work, so after
the extractions, he woke up starving and wanting
to go out. We went down to a little cafeteria in
the building. Unlike his usual self, he wanted to
sit at the (dry) bar to eat.

As he ate, he was still so high from the gas that he
slurred his words and was unaware that drips of
soup were in his moustache! The waitress kept
looking at him funny, and I had to keep saying,
"Use your napkin!" I explained to the waitress that
he had not been drinking, but I don't think she
    believed me.

After eating, we started outside, only to see it
absolutely pouring rain. Gallantly, my husband
told me, "You wait here; I will bring the car around."
He then started the oddest slow-motion gallop
across the parking lot that I had ever seen! ;-D
And there I was running behind him in the pouring
rain, shouting, "No! No! You cannot drive!"

Unconvinced, he continued, unlocked the driver's
door, but I maneuvered myself so that he could
not get in and convinced him to let me drive.

    Whew!
