Don't you think you should research something before you smear the name of a man who claims to be a Christian brother?
Among Pauls early "racist" actions, was offering to pay for Rosa Parks medal, quoting Martin Luther King Jr. (from the beginning), and having Muhammed Ali as a personal hero...
I see....if it is every other candidate it is simply vetting but if it is RP then it is smearing. Typical of an RP supporter.
I find the last paragraph of the op most interesting:
No; the difference is the stuff about Gingrich, Perry, etc. is TRUE< whereas this is FALSE. I don't want people just making stuff up about people. "Gingrich is an alien! Romney eats Children!" Of course this kind of outlandish silliness should be off the table.
So yes, TRUTH IS typical of a Ron Paul supporter.
Of course.... I doubt you even read the op. The facts are there.
I have read it. The "newsletters" he refers have been proven NOT to ahve come from Dr. Paul. If someone writes a "newsletter" and signs your name to it, how does that make you responsible? These were not even sanctioned organizations....
From the op:
They didn't come from RP? But he earnd millions from them? The two do not add up.
Ron Paul called the truther movement "preposterous" on Beck's T.V. show.
A lot ot folks have tried to paint him as a racist, a Bircher.
Mandy, this is mostly conjecture. A lot of questions, but no concrete answers.
He earned a lot of money from a newsletter he says he had nothing to do with. Now if Gingrich or any of the other candidates were involved in anything similar to this RP supporters would be all over it. So let's assume he is not a racist. he still earned millions from a racist newsletter while his head was turned. Why is that? What does that actually say about him? Either way it paints him in a very bad light. He is either a racist or was willing to benefit financially from racism.
Rp supporters would be all over this if it were anyone else.
So, then you are on Newt for the money he earned from the health care lobby ?
Not to change the subject.
The weekly standard is a Neo-Con newspaper.
But charges of racism should be absolute before they are made.
Policy is why I support him. He will end the wars, he will end the Patriot Act. I agree with him on taxes & free markets.
I would love to talk issues. But he is no racist.
I am not a Newt supporter. And I said "let's assume he is not a racist". But character counts as much as issues. I like his view on domestic policies. He is real weird on some other things. As far as policies go I would not be disappointed should he win the election. But we cannot ding Newt on his past issue or condemn Obama for his association with wright and Aires and just look the other way when it comes to RP. We need to look at everyone with the same scrutiny.
But thats not the American Political way!
Where did the article say, "He earned millions"? It does not say that. And having campaign contributions given by people "on the mailing list" of a news outlet, is far different than actually having written something.
Again, you are just trying to smear Dr. Paul. The things you are writing have been thoroughly debunked, but you simply do not care. That, to me, shows your character.
Go back and read post #8
You know this post says more about you than anyone else.
You should work on your reading skills...
"Yet a subsequent report by Reason found that Ron Paul & Associates, the defunct company that published the newsletters and which "counted" Paul and his wife as officers, reported an income of nearly $1 million in 1993 alone. If this figure is reliable, Paul "must have" earned multiple millions of dollars over the two decades plus of the newsletters’ existence."
Now my turn to quote...
"Austin NAACP President Nelson Linder, who has known Ron Paul for 20 years, unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist in light of recent smear attempts, and said the reason for him being attacked was that he was a threat to the establishment."
When the liberal, overreacting, over-sensitive President of the NAACP says you're not racist (who has been friends with Paul since 1988), and calls these allegations a "smear campaign", you can be pretty darn sure there was no racism involved.
Yep, that I value truth.
It matters not that he is a racist where this is concerned. He in fact earned millions off of a racist publication. That is a fact. And just because someone questions this does not make it a smear campaign. But those who are defensive and not wanting questions asked about his history seem to be insecure about the whole thing. Especially when they want to personally attack the ones who are asking questions and vetting him out.
I'm not all that insecure, and certainly don't think asking for proof is an attack. There are posters here who do think that, but I hold out hope that you are not.
HD has done more than just ask for proof. He has questioned my character, questioned my intentions, and just gets upset when anyone disagrees with RP. There is just no need to do that. These types of hateful personal attacks just shows a large amount of insecurity. he doesn't know how to disagree with someone without acting like a child. As for proof RP does not deny the newsletter or its content. Neither does he deny the money he earned from it. Earning money whether it is one million or many millions from racist publications should be questioned thoroughly and not just quickly dismissed. Even if a few high profile people come out in support of him.
Are you SURE you're not a girl? You sure act like a sissy.
