In Joshua 21 v 43-45 it says that all the land promised to the children of Israel was taken by them; however, in Judges 1 v 1 and 3 v 1-6 it seems to suggest something rather different. I have been perplexed by this for some time. Can anyone help me?

Probably a good parallel with the American West. It was "conquered" by the Anglos, but for 100 years there were pockets of resistance by tribes. Ask Custer.

Canaan still had Philistines, still had some Mari outposts (Amorites) and some smaller tribes. Even Jerusalem was not yet in Israeli control until the time of David.

    Dr. Bob Griffin,

You have a question directed to you under the “3 days and 3 nights” topic.
