In Gen. 15.16 it is written

"But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."

Now, I can see God worried for 4 generations that the Amorites (of their own 'free-will') will repent of their iniquity, thus making the promise of God to Abraham of no effect, because in repenting through their own will, which would enable them to do so at any time, this promise could not be fulfilled.

Brethren, your proposal is not founded scripturally. You don't have to take my word for it, the fact that you don't is admirable (flattery), but don't try to take what is found in the Word of God out, this only results in confusion.

Of course belief is of God! God created all there is. He created man with the faculties that enable belief, and he gave to man the object of belief. Now it is up to man to choose to believe or refuse to believe. God's work is finished. That is, God created, God established, and his work is done. Accept or Reject according to your belief.

God gave man a brain, a spirit, flesh, and the innate life force that all mammalian species possesses. That is the force that causes the flesh to be alive, all forms of life obey the this force. NO I do not understand that part of life, but I do know it exists. Without a spirit man would be nothing more than the animals, and God would not have given man dominion over the rest of creation.

The spirit of man is where the essence, that is, the attributes of man resides. The spirit of man lives on after the flesh dies. The spirit of man is what the Christ came to redeem. It is in the spirit of man that disobedience of God resides, and it is in the spirit of man where free will resides. It is the spirit of man for which the spiritual warfare is waged. The spirit of man is the prize to be gained by waging spiritual warfare. The flesh has nothing to offer.

Just as entertainment is the business of Hollywood, Belief is the business of God. Hollywood's efforts are expended for others to be entertained. God's effort is for others to believe.

Name one thing for which God must have belief!

    Yelsew,

You are the one who provided scripture and interpretation which declared the work of God is believing.

The belief which is unto salvation, also is a work of God, worked in the will, heart, soul and spirit of man, if not, man is eternally lost, despite the completed work of justification at the Cross.

In the day that the Shepherd laid down His life for the sheep, they were forever perfected. Nothing needs to be added to the finised and perfect redemption in Christ.

You obviously do not understand the scripture about the Work of the Father. But, Did you also not understand the illustrations? Hollywood and God?

Let's see, you are from Kentucky, you should understand this illustration.

Thoroughbread Racing. The Trainer's work is to prepare the horse for the big race. On race day however, the trainer has no work to do with the horse. It is either ready to run or it is not. There is nothing more the trainer can do at that point to ready the horse. It is now up to the Jockey and the Horse. All the trainer can do is sit in the stands and watch the race.

That is what God does for us, Has done all the preparatory work and said it is finished. Now the time of decision comes and it is entirely up to us. Since all the work is already done, the only thing left for us is believing or not believing.

    Here's another,

[IMG] </font>[/QUOTE]Thanks for the illustration. I don't agree with horse racing by the way. My question now is who is the Jockey that drives the horse? My answer of course is the Holy Spirit, without a jockey, as I understand it, the horse would not run the race, this is my contention.

I also believe that the people have perceived the govt's responsibility is to provide such services, but that these services render the people dependent upon the govt. rather than the govt. upon the people, in the end you do not have democracy, nor a republic, but a system we are opposed to, all this, however is done under the table and apart from the knowledge of the people, who have been misled into believing they are enjoying a service, but rather are being made dependent upon the state. These things are for another forum and forgive me for digressing into them, but I think govt. has perverted its purpose, which are defense of the people and foreign policy affairs. I believe this all began to move this way when our nation fought the Civil War, which according to the Constitution (being ratified by the States to provide the birth of the Fed. Govt.) was illegal.

    God Bless.
