The Diotrephes Pattern — Part 3

VIII. The People Drawn to Such Personalities 2 Timothy 4:3–4 — Some prefer harshness because it feels strong. They mistake force for faithfulness.

Application 3 John 1:11 — Refuse imitation. Harshness is not holiness. Continue in the truth. Support faithful brethren.

How Believers Should Respond Today Recognize the pattern. Refuse the spirit. Walk in quiet faithfulness (2 Timothy 2:24). Separate from their influence (Acts 20:30). Continue doing good (3 John 1:11).

Conclusion The Diotrephes pattern is old and recurring. The Lord honors those who walk in truth, charity, and humility. There will always be Diotrepheses in the world.

This article was written in simple continuous prose with full Scripture quotations, following the pattern of clarity and charity commended in the New Testament. It is offered freely for the strengthening of believers and the encouragement of those who desire to walk in truth without being drawn into the spirit of contention or preeminence.
