This is from the chapter "Elucidation ".

Modern theology ( if it deserves to be called theology ) presents to man a parody of God , who commands the respect of none , who is disrobed of His august and glorious majesty , who , far from doing His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth , is pictured as a kindly petitioner seeking favors at the hands of worms of the dust . Such a "god" has no powerful voice which shakes the earth and makes guilty rebels quail , but only offers entrieties which may be despised with impunity . Unless God is able to enforce His will He ceases to be God .

The exhortations , warnings and promises set down in the Word are to be pressed on the ungodly so as to make them more inexcusable , so that they may not say in the day to come that , had they been invited to receive such good things , they would have embraced them ; had they been admonished for their sins , they would have forsaken them . Their own conscience will convict them , and they will know a prophet of God spoke to them .

Every objection against the doctrine of man's spiritual impotence has been overthrown by God's servants in the past , yet each fresh generation repeats the arrogance of its forbears .

[ I kinda' think these posts will receive opposition in this "fresh generation" -- Rip ]

Exposition : Dealing With Inability And Depravity

... t shows sinners that their perdition is really altogether of themselves , for they are unwilling to be made clean . The kindest thing we can do for them is to shatter their self-righteous hopes , to make them realize both their utter helplessness and their entire inexcusableness . The high demands of God are to be pressed upon them with the design of bringing them to cry to Him to graciously work in them that which He requires . Genuine conviction of sin consists in a thorough realization of responsibility and guilt , of our inability and dependence upon divine grace . Nothing is so well calculated to produce that conviction , under the Spirit's blessing , as the faithful preaching of this unpalatable truth .

Where's the scripture that says we are unable to respond to the gospel?

Where is the scripture that says God's will is either forced on men or God isn't really God?

Where is the scripture that says it isn't God's will that man respond to the gospel willingly?

Please show us God's force of Salvation?

    Shows us God's will.

You're opinions of what makes God a God are not according to scripture, they are the ideas of men and not God.

I don't see how the words of AWP caused you such confusion . BUT IN THIS POST I'LL JUST GIVE YOU SOME VERSES TO ILLUSTRATE that we indeed are unable and unwilling to respond to the gospel .

In 1 Cor. We are told that the natural person can't accept the things of the Spirit of God -- they're foolishness and can't be understood .

In 2 Cor. 4:3,4 it says that the gospel is veiled to those who are perishing -- that's because the god of this age has givn them spiritual blindness .

BEFORE ONE IS QUICKENED , one is dead in their sins -- see Eph. 2:1 and Col. 2:13 .

THE SON GIVES LIFE TO THOSE OF HIS CHOOSING -- TO THOSE HE IS PLEASED TO GIVE IT -- JOHN 5:21

In Phil. 2:29 we're told that it has been granted to some to believe on the Lord .

We just don't have the power on our own to turn to the Lord .

People are darkened in their understanding and separated from God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart . -- Eph. 4:18

In Col. 1:13 it states that the unregenerate are residing in the dominion of darknes . But ( 1 Pet. 2:9 ) God calls us out of that darkness and into His wonderful light .

The Lord has to open hearts to respond to the saving truths of the gospel . See Acts 16:14 . OUR HEARTS ARE FOOLISH BEFORE REGENERATION -- SEE RO.1:21

THE SCRIPTURE SAYS THAT NO ONE SEEKS OR UNDERSTANDS IN RO.3:11

The sinful mind is hostile toward God according to Romans 8:7 .

These and a number of other passages demonstrate our helplessness , powerlessness , unwillingness and state of inability to turn to the Lord on our own accord . Sin has imprisoned us . THE LORD HAS TO PERSONALLY INTERCEDE ON OUR BEHALF .

Sometimes you present false choices . YOU SAY YOU WANT TO SEE VERSES WHICH STATE THAT EITHER GOD'S WILL IS FORCED ON PEOPLE OR VERSES THAT SHOW THAT GOD IS NOT GOD .

Well , that's absurd . GOD DOESN'T FORCE HIMSELF ON ANYONE . HE SOFTENS HEARTS AND TRANSLATES THEM INTO HIS KINGDOM . PINK WASN'T SAYING ANYTHING OF THE KIND THAT GOD FORCES HIMSELF ON ANYONE . BUT I'M NOT GOING TO GO INTO THE NONSENS EITHER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A GENTLEMAN .THE POINT IS THAT NONE CAN COME TO JESUS UNLESS THE FATHER HAS ENABLED THEM TO DO SO . -- JOHN 6:65 . The drawing is always effectual -- see John 6:44 .

GOD IS GOD . BUT THE GOD OF THE BIBLE IS THE REAL GOD . THE GOD OF SOME IS MISREPRESENTING THE LORD OF THE SCRIPTURES . THE LORD DOESN'T YIELD TO FALSE REASONINGS .

YOU LOOKED AT POST #4 AND EXTRAPOLATED SOME FALSE PREMISES -- THINGS THAT WERE JUST NOT THERE IN HIS WORDS . AWP EMPHASIZED OUR NATURAL INABILITY AND NEED FOR DEPENDENCE UPON DIVINE GRACE .

Using the "Calvin-Servetus model of evangelism" - or was that "of INQUISITION" - no doubt. Sure you don't want to take the monicker "rail-on?"

The above is yet another example of turning the edifying into something far worse . Deal with A.W.P's words . Do not start up about things that have nothing to do with the OP -- come on .
