I doubt he will and I would never support it.

 

What Obama will do is destroy our Military and Intelligence capabilities just as Clinton did.

I would extremely surprised if the draft is ever used again. I could be wrong but I believe our Gov would sit around in denial and watch our country get destroyed before it would "Force our young men to get killed" I can hear that argument before it even starts. Of course that is only speculation, but probably a correct one.

 

I agree with that. It would be very hard to sell this after the last draft, or at least until my generation is mostly gone.

If we are going to fight wars and maintain a force around the world in several places, we really need to increase our active duty numbers and not make reserves and national guard go on permanent active duty. That is not their purpose. It would probably take a draft to achieve the required active duty numbers based on today's commitments.

 

The draft will not be used because our owners are recruiting felons and aliens for the army. They want soldiers who will not object to gunning down Americans. That is why the National Guards are sent over seas while the Army stays home.

 

Obama has publically said on several occasions that he favors a draft. Hillary favors it also. Obama even said he wanted women to register.

Conducting the Iraq war without a draft was unreasonable. We had National guard troops called up for 4 or 5 terms of duty. That isn't fair to the troops. If Bush wanted to conduct a war on this scale as well as in Afghanistan the only reasonable thing to do was to start the draft again. Of course that wasn't politically viable so Bush instead put unreasonable demands on our existing military. Of course a better thing to do would have been to go after the real terrorists in Afghanistan and forget about the Neo-Con dream of invading Iraq.

I think President Obama will be much more prudent in his deployment of our troops abroad.

 

That's an unmerited insult to the men and women who serve and have served our nation. You flat don't know what you're talking about!

 

Why wouldn't Obama go for a draft? Has he met a Big Brother mandate yet he hasn't embraced full on?
