    GRAB YOUR BIBLES Isaiah 53:1-12
    ==========
    Today I am starting....a “mini-series” of messages:
    Through Isaiah 53:
    ------------------------
    The “Ethiopian eunuch’s” passage! (Acts 8:32,33)
    Today is part 1....... (Verses 1-4)
    ==========
    LETS READ THE TEXT Isaiah 53:1-12
    ==========

    ==========
    V.1A “Who hath believed our report?”
    -THE ONLY HOPE ANYBODY HAS....OF MAKING IT TO HEAVEN-
    (Believing the report of God’s Word:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Those who reject the authenticity of God’s Word:
    Can never be saved!
    ==========
    V.1B “and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?”
    -GOD’S ACTIVE PART......IN THIS EXPERIENCE-
    (Revealing the truth to them:)
    --------------------------
    Qt. John 6:44 “No man can come..”
    --------------------------------------------------
    Although everyone..will be drawn....at some point:
    Qt. John 12:32 “And I, if I be...”
    ==========
    V.2A “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,”
    -THE EARTHLY APPEARANCE....OF THE LORD’S RIGHT ARM-
    (As a “tender plant”:)
    ------------------------
    Being born in a barn:
    Then living.....a simple life:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -A PROPHETIC REFERENCE....TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST-
    As........“tender plant”:
    See Isaiah 11:1
    ==========
    V.2B “and as a root out of a dry ground:”
    -THE SPIRITUALLY DRY CONDITIONS....OF HIS TIME-
    (Because of the hypocrisy ...of it’s Spiritual leaders:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    The LORD...won’t have anything to do:
    With people...who are just going through the motions!
    ==========
    V.2C “he hath no form nor comeliness;”
    -THE JEWISH LEADERS....TOOK NO NOTICE OF HIM-
    (Even though they should have:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Note: How the Lord taught...at 12 years old:
    When He was in the Temple:
    ------------------------
    This....should have gotten their attention!
    ==========
    V.2D “and when we shall see him,”
    -THE SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS......OF THOSE LEADERS-
    (Even after the Lord started His ministry:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    They should have turned their backs on “religion”:
    And accepted the Messiah!
    ==========
    V.2E “[there is] no beauty that we should desire him.”
    -THE SOURCE......OF THEIR SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS-
    (The wrong expectations:)
    ------------------------
    They had no interest in anyone from Galilee:
    Qt. John 7:41 “Others said, This is the Christ.
    But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?”

    --------------------------------------------------
    -BEING BLIND....TO THE WAY.... “GOD” WORKS-
    How He always uses....those who we don’t expect:
    ------------------------
    Qt.1Cor.1:27 “But God hath chosen the”
    ==========
    V.3A “He is despised and rejected of men;”
    -THE TRUE DEPTH.....OF THIS SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS-
    (Reaching even to his disciples:)
    ------------------------
    Who criticized the woman...with the box of oil:
    See Matthew 26:7,8
    --------------------------------------------------
    Not fully realizing...who the Lord was!
    ==========
    V.3B “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:”
    -THE LOGICAL ARGUMENT....FOR THEIR SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS-
    (The kind life...the Lord had lived:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Being born in squalor:
    Then having to run and hide.....at 2 years old!
    ==========
    V.3C “and we hid as it were [our] faces from him;”
    -A WAY OF LIFE....THAT OFFENDED MANY-
    (The life of a carpenters son:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    The religious hierarchy...looking down their noses:
    At anyone....who was not up to their standards!
    ==========
    V.3D “he was despised,”
    -THE WAY....JESUS WAS SEEN....BY MOST OF THE WORLD-
    (Just incase you missed it before:)
    ------------------------
    He was “despised” Lit.(contemptible)
    ---------------------------------------------------
    He was seen...as a despicable person:
    Not even worthy....of their attention!
    ==========
    V.3E “and we esteemed him not.”
    -NO ONE EXPECTED....ANYTHING OUT OF HIM-
    (Like the way...most people look at a homeless person:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    And a matter of fact...He was homeless!
    ==========
    V.4A “Surely he hath borne our griefs,”
    -THE “EARTHLY” REASON HIS LIFE....HAD TO BE THIS WAY-
    (Because....of His Father’s plans for Him:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    He was going to take our sins upon Himself:
    On the cross:
    ------------------------
    And no wealthy prince...would be nailed to a cross!
    ==========
    V.4B “and carried our sorrows:”
    -THE “PERSONAL” REASON HIS LIFE....HAD TO BE THIS WAY-
    (Because He was going to...carry His cross:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    He knew....what was going to happen to him:
    And 33 years of sorrow....prepared Him for it!
    ==========
    V.4C “yet we did esteem him stricken,”
    -THE SECULAR WORLD’S.....BLINDED VIEW OF HIS LIFE-
    (Saying things like.....)
    “He sure has bad luck”:
    and
    “Boy am I glad...I am not in His shoes!”
    ==========
    V.4D “smitten of God, and afflicted.”
    -THE RELIGIOUS WORLD’S.....BLINDED VIEW OF HIS LIFE-
    (Saying things like........)
    “He must have really...sinned bad:
    For the LORD....to allow this to happen to Him!”
    ==========
