Diane,

You said

Last time I checked, Jack Hyles was dead and is not sponsoring or hosting any websites. Unless, of course, he is doing it from the Great Beyond. Since I do not believe that he is, your point is not valid. Furthermore, I do not believe you offended anyone for your stand on Jack Hyles' lifestyle. Several of us have stood against much of that stuff, including a man who posts on the FFF who wrote a rather lengthy tome on the theme. What was offensive was your snide comment and the generalization that you make about anyone that posts on the FFF. That is what I believe they asked you for an apology about. Let's see you be more Christian than Jack was.

Funny. We had a thread (on the old FFF) on listing the "benefits" and "blessings" of Hyles. I did started it and, since I had seen ZERO, said I would not post.

Ended up with a totall of 20 posts and 2-3 good things about him. 2 or 3. Pathetic. My DOG could have scored higher.

The sad part of the New FFF is lack of any control over "trolls" and "guests" who can post some pretty vile stuff with impunity. There WILL be some basic moderating beginning there (I am told) to eliminate posting with swear words, links to porn and banning ip numbers of "trolls".

That would be good, Dr. Bob. It would make the FFF more enjoyable and possibly bring it back to what it was when I joined years ago. Oh, the good ol' days!~

Chris, usually things here are pretty civil. Sometimes they get a bit rough, but it's usually taken care of pretty quickly.

I'm not sure where White Pine is. I know we're about 50-60 miles SSE of Nashville.

Can you link or cut and paste those snide comments?

Tony,

I can hold my own. After all, I am Sicilian. [IMG] Don't get me wrong - I am sure that there is no way that any board will be perfect all the time. That would be Heaven and, well, that's just not going to happen here.

It may not even be called White Pine - it's White something! [IMG]

Is this what you are looking for?

No thanks. First, I'd never have my name associated with Jack Hyles. Secondly, I'm NOT a fighter and NOT fundamental enough for the IFB fundamentalist and have would never watch a Soap Opera or Springer. I'll stay here and spread the SBC Love.

</font>
To be honest, I really do not care if you apologize, because I like to be snide and smartaleck. I bet no one could guess that. But those are the comments that I believe AVL was referring to.

Dan, you're punishing ME for the remarks about the FFF by another poster. I responded that I'm not a fighter, first F, most fundamentalists don't consider me (SBC) a fundamentalist, second f, so I'll just stay here and spread the SBC love. The other poster said the FFF was a mixture of Springer and Soap Operas and I replied I don't watch either.

How can my 'no thanks... not my style' need an apology when I was not the op of those remarks. I'd never seen the FFF and only knew a few who mentioned posting there.

Honestly, I think I'm owed an apology instead. [IMG]

As for the www.jackhyles remark.... I stand by my thoughts on not wanting a websearch to pull up dianetavegia and Jack Hyles.

You would NOT be the first woman linked to Hyles (Dave or Dad) when folks were doing a search . .

Diane,

As I mentioned, I am not the one demanding the apology. That was AVL1984 about two pages back. What I was doing is pointing out why some were offended. I do believe that you are biased against the FFF, but that is just my personal opinion. However, I have no desire to punish you since I barely know you and have bared enough fang in this thread already. So, I officially am going to let the matter

BTW.... I didn't say this either but I'm the only one who got trashed:
Just for the record:

Praise the Lord! ;) </font>
Praise the Lord! ;) </font>
In many respects, that was my first thought too. :D

There were some things of interest at times though.

Doesn't it make you question their Christian experience with Christ?

Certainly it makes one wonder if they are truly born again and have been cleansed.

Well since I had never even SEEN the FFF, it would be pretty hard for me to be prejudiced against it. I only knew Dr. Bob posted there and seem to recall another fella had mentioned it a while back as one of his haunts. Ed possibly??

Now that I've been called some VERY horrible things there, I am not a fan of such a board. Ignorant of all things Christian is a pretty serious charge, on top of hag, witch, vicious, self-righteous (spelled wrong there) and others.

As I said, I replied that I don't fit or belong on that board. Period.

To 'G', I had never seen the original (real) FFF and hadn't seen the temporary home of the FFF before I got all the emails Sunday night and Monday morning with copies of the posts on this new site.

I can't recall you saying anything offensive, Diane, that anyone should be offended at.

I did go to the original (real) FFF years ago. It is more extreme now BUT The macho attitude that you can't be thin skinned over at the FFF calls into question if Christians should be getting in the kinda debates with one another that occur there. The closest we have to the FFF on this board is the Calvinism vs. Arminian board and the King James Version discussion BUT it is mild compared to the FFF.

i think the fff like anything here on earth started out with good intentions.

peopel corrupt it
even good christians can be guilty of corruption to some degree.
i say this here and i said this on the fff

we can not hold people accountable for their sin or judge them for it-
we are only accountable to GOD and HE is the only judge

thats why the fff is ok for me - cause there you have to watch out for your own actions-
you dont have to wait for some one to come along and tell you you were wrong- and since there is no moderator to delete your posts- its there for all to see- most people see their error and wind up appologizing- but here when you have said something offensive and it quickly gets deleted- there is little time to be faced with your own sin till you repent of it.
here when you get deleted- you are almost off the hook, you dont have to face your own sin anymore

Diane,

My original post was written using a literary method known as hyperbole. I thought that my using Dr. Bob as an example would indicate that. Only the trolls actually resemble Springer, and their days are probably numbered. The one benefit of having moderators here on the BB is that most of the posters here probably don't what a troll is. Anyway for clarity's sake, I will refrain from hyperbole in the future.

You guys certainly have a higher caliber troll than most! [IMG] It's almost a pity they'll be banned.
