So, with regard to politics, we are to reject the less than ideal in favor of (by paving the way for) the bad?

    Not buying it.

You don't have to buy it. The Bible is full of accounts of folks trying to fix things their way instead of obeying God.

In terms of politics, The word of God says still says In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight
    Pro. 3:6

So try rejecting anything that's against God. He didn't tell you to divide His house between what He commands and what you feel to be less than ideal but better than something else.

14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, [j]natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and [k]selfish ambition exist, [l]there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [m]reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. James 3:14-17

says who? Are you saying that morals of a person only count for the office of pastor and nothing else?
My point again, we are voting for the president. Do you want the president to have good morals? Sure we do. We are not voting for a pastor. If we were, then we wouldn't have voted for any of them.

We should acknowledge God in all our ways.

You said we weren't electing a pastor. So do morals matter now?

So are we to ignore morals just because it's the President and not a pastor?

I didn't vote for either of them. Morals matter.

I agree. And I also believe if the 78% had been acknowledging God, they wouldn't have set to elect a man who is against God.

I think our attitude towards the brethren with whom we disagree is more of a predictor of any falling away than an election is- 1 John 5:1,2.

So did she then instead vote for the false god worshipping Obama who authorized the killing of infants and the destruction of marriage?

I certainly hope you do the same for your doctor, your garbage man, your accountant, your barber and your newspaper. Oh and your bank, your car company, your grocery store and the restaurants you frequent.

This is the heart of the matter. I'm reading "Christians are Hate Filled Hypocrites - and other Lies You've Been Told" and it addresses just this issue. The polls are not accurate because those who vote can label themselves whatever they want. It is not a true reflection of what people believe.

Zaac, what do you believe the difference is between voting for a president and doing business with an unbeliever; and if there is, why? Both are, in a sense being hired to do a job.

If I'm not mistaken, she said she didn't vote for either but you may want to check the article's comments to verify.

The difference is one is placed in authority over me by God the other isn't.

I understand yall's need to continue to justify voting for that which is against God. But it just ain't gonna wash here.

Good. You adhere to to what you want to and I'll continue to align myself with God.

It's not my fault your little example didn't place me in a dilemma the way you no doubt hoped it would.

Well that's a self-righteous statement if one ever existed.

My mortgage company isn't in authority over me.

I don't get to vote for them or a say so in how they are hired.

No attempts to ensnare, but to understand...believe it or not.

As for my 'constant smugness', believe what you will.
