    Thank you for your input.

Christians have never looked to the history channel to find Jesus. They're already aware of Jesus.

Are you not aware of that?

Jesus though may be said to have left his image on a shroud so that in the 21st century a channel could bring to light a technology that brings unbelievers to realize Christ is not a myth after all.

God is in all things and communicates in many ways. If one person is led to seek Christ after watching this documentary, no Christian would condemn it being broadcast on television.

Otherwise, they'd have to remain consistent and condemn any television ministry, any minister who is on the radio, or who publishes.

I disagree. People look everywhere for Jesus. Mary in toast. Jesus in the clouds. It saddens me. We have his promise, I guess that isn't enough for some folks. I even slip, sometimes.

Jesus left us, and joined his father. This shroud of turin stuff is just creepy. Pagan idolatry.

I would suggest there is a difference between seeing Jesus in toast, or Mary in oxidized glass and seeking Jesus.

Seeing Christ in a grilled cheese sandwich or in clouds for that matter, as was the case in the early 20th century via a photograph that was acclaimed for years, is a psychological phenomena known as Pareidolia.

I think if someone see's God, or Jesus, or even Mary, in common place things or in nature, that it may be a sign that their soul is hoping to find an avenue wherein they can then pursue the real thing.

One never knows. However, the scripture tell us that Christ's body was wrapped when he was placed in the tomb. And if this shroud happens to be that wrapping and the image upon it happens to be able to be identified as that what could not have been forged or faked in the early centuries when it was first discovered, how can we say an all knowing God didn't know that one day human technology would find a way to prove to even the atheist that Jesus is real?

Because for those naysayers who are the type who say, I'll believe it when I see it, this could very well be a means that shows the world a risen Christ was once a man. Just as God's word tells us.

As for the charge of pagan idolatry, I don't know anyone who worships the shroud of Turin. Though its mystery has intrigued people for years. And now its mystery is a little less so per this latest research.

I think if we condemn what may be the miracle on the shroud as pagan idolatry we might wonder what we're doing if we wear a cross pendant? Displaying a notorious sadistic Roman capital punishment device that took our Lord's life on our person as we call ourselves Christian.

Jesus raised the dead, cured lepers, made the blind to see. I don't think it impossible he could have imprinted flax with his spiritual energy as his soul departed and then left the body in the tomb he only rested in for awhile.

I am pointing out those who foolishly seek a sign from God.

What if they see monsters and demons ? My Bible says his light is already in us, and it also those who do not have it will not seek him.

Would that prove he rose ? Had a virgin birth ? That he was the Son of God ? My brother the atheist knows Jesus existed, the devils know Jesus existed.

    See above.

No. It's only the image of Christ you see. Or think you see, maybe, but hope so. Please.

Yeah. I despise religious symbols of all types. Absolutely. I keep it to myself, mostly, but I think crosses as jewelry are at best, not necessary at all.

His shroud. His robe. His sandals. Heck, we may someday find his cross, or the very crown of thorns he wore. If you found them, would that show the world the Lamb of God ? Born of a virgin ? Sinless life ? Victorious over death ?

No, they won't. The world is not interested in Jesus, unless they can sell some commercial time.

So do people still think the shroud of Turin is legit? I thought that notion died out a while ago...

I posted this video so people could choose to watch or not. I did not post it to inspire angst or outrage or inspire angry debate.

I'll leave you to believe as you will about the shroud of Turin.

I will say it is a tragic thing to make a broad implication toward the worlds people in saying they're not interested in Jesus unless it sells some commercial time.

That statement alone condemns evangelists the world over. And is also refuted when we sober and realize the world is largely populated by Christians. Especially the USA.

Not angry, just warning people they shouldn't worry about what the History Channel says about Jesus.

Ane beware the difference between cultural christianity, and being forgiven. There aren't that many of us.

Why would I want to watch it ? Does it answer any of my previous questions ?

I got a feeling you have not quite escaped the clutches of Catholicism.

Thank you for your honesty. You can not speak intelligently as to the content of the video from the point of that admission forward.

Does it make you feel good to personally attack a woman and her faith?
Is that the only means you have available when unable to otherwise engage in intelligent discussion and debate?

And just so you know Jesus was not a Catholic.
His body was wrapped for burial. It's unfortunate you refuse to acknowledge that fact. Perhaps if you read the scriptures your ignorance of John 19:40 would abate.

    God forgive you.

Baloney, I can't. I know enough about both the shroud, and the history channel to be secure of my stance. And you didn't answer my question.

    LOL. Another martyr.

Wow. Thanx. I always thought he was. Really.
LOL, again. Where did I say he wasn't wrapped for burial ? That is the stupidest point you have made, yet.

    Yeah.

What question? The oxymoron that pertained to your referencing a video you refuse to watch, while asking if it will answer your questions?
That you think the shoud of Turin is a Catholic icon demonstrates you are not equipped to even engage in discussion on this issue.

I'll ignore the rest of your remarks here. I believe you have taken an intense dislike to me since the obscene assault on women you attempted to interject here with the posting of your "feminist" thread.
My Lord also died to forgive Misogynists.
However, he did not say I have to entertain their hatred.
God forgive you your hatred. May you find Christ.

    And goodbye.

I like the History Channel as well. If you've ever seen any documentary about the shroud this particular and latest one brings new insight and science into its study. Quite fascinating really.

I have no confidence in any idea that leads to this being true. The religious leaders of the day would never have allowed empty grave clothes to lay around as it would only prop up the resurrection story. After Peter looks at them in the tomb they are never mentioned again.

Further if the original manuscripts of scripture do not exist, if the arc of the covenant does not exist, I doubt Jesus grave clothes exist.
