Wow backwards. Preach the gospel only to those we think are going to hear it? Do you have a list of folks you'd recommend?

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

Preach to every creature accept for sodomites on the streets of Philly?
They should have the freedom to assemble and the freedom to speak without asking the gov't for permission, it gives them no special constitutional privileges because they did so.

The yelling and screaming was one-sided and it wasn't the side of Christ.

Just the ones breaking the law. Like the ones who were blocking a public passageway.
So the Philly 11 had the freedom to not be there but not the freedom to be there?

They violated no law and they didn't even yell fire in a theater.

Rufus, I'm sorry, but every parade in every town or city or state, every public demonstration, every event is permitted. C'mon the people had a permit to block that "public passageway". It happens ALL the time in all types of cities by every type of group imaginable.

People can preach to whoever they want. They did not have a right to cause a disturbance at a publicaly permitted event, no one does. There are ways to preach at homosexuals that are not going to cause public disturbances, as happened in this case. Sheesh....

Why is this thread hijacked to the homosexuals in Philly and hate crimes? Those have nothing to do with the OP. Please stay on topic, or this thread will be closed.

Well, some people do consider themselves "Gay*-Americians".

From now on, just call me an "overweight-Americian".

    * I refused to use the term "Gay" while refering to a homosexual, except in direct quotes.

The crimes under the hate crimes legislation are already being enforced. So the reason for the crime or the motivation of it is now being criminalized. That is in effect criminalizing thoughts. Pretty simple really.

    Pretty incorrect.

You can think anything you want to. Think I am a jelly doughnut for all I care. However, when your beliefs become an excuse for abusive behavior against another individual, that becomes a crime.

Oversimplification makes the oversimplifier appear overly simple.

I'm more inclined to think you're a bagel. However, I would fear saying that as it might offend Crispy Cream customers and it might land me in jail. ;)

The behavior is already a crime. Raising the punishment to a higher level because of the intent is a policing of the thoughts. And your donut illustration is irrelevent to the whole thing.
