Obama's class warfare would end if everyone really knows these numbers...unless the goal is just outright theft and the destruction of the American economy.
"Since when has it been considered just for the bottom 99 percent to say to the top 1 percent, "We can outvote you to take your money"? That is a politics of piracy and theft, with no roots in American history."
Does anyone else besides myself understand that income distribution is NOT a bell curve and the social/political implications?
No one else understands that "middle class" means the middle section of the poor people?
Isn't rich and poor like moral and immoral, good and bad? A comparison of the ends of a scale?
Say a 12 inch ruler was re-scaled with the federal minimum wage times 2080 hours (standard work year) on the left end and Bill Gate's annual gross capital gains on the right end. Then the ruler was placed on a long sheet of paper and a dot was placed below every family's income.
How many inches from the left end would median family income be located?
It doesn't matter. You personally may not like how many rich people are in the world but using government to transfer wealth is immoral no matter what the problem is.
You are correct. It happened in Nazi Germany - the Jews had their wealth confiscated and as much as 30% of the German war effort was financed by Jewish confiscated wealth. If the government can confiscate or transfer a rich man's wealth, it can do the same to anyone. We are supposed to be FREE and have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We would do well to revisit German/Nazi history and note the parallels coming to pass in the USA.
Frankly carpro I believe bigO's goal is the destruction of the country. He is a toady of George Soros who wants the same thing!
Not the destruction OR, but sovereign control, - a serfdom.
The neo-serf is not attached to the land but is dependent upon the corporation oligarchy for his work and pay. The corporations don't care for whom we work, who we marry, where we live, how many guns we own . . . as long as net assets keep flowing from the workers to the owners.
And that makes the stockholders happy and all those who have 401(k) increase in value which they hope to use for retirement. Nothing wrong with being dependent upon a corporation for work and pay, especially when that corporation is making money, because that helps the workers have job security to feed their families, buy homes, buy cars, buy electronics, keep on the heat and lights, and more! The Free Market is wonderful and our nation is the envy of the world because someone can come here with just the shirt on their back, work hard, and end up with an IPO. At least, that's the way it used to work before the "fundamental transformation of America."
We are a 21st century serfdom:
We are attached to the bank which holds the mortgage to the property.
We are attached to the county which expects a rental payment every year (disguised as a "property" tax).
This administration wants us to work for them.
They also want us to approve same-gender marriage.
If we do marry cross-gender they expect us to murder our kids in the womb.
They don't like our guns or our bibles and they particularly don't like us clinging to our guns and bibles (in lieu of clinging to them) for security and protection from criminals.
I don't have any problem believing you may be right.
The evidence definitely points in that direction.
According to leftist logic, it is evil for someone to put a gun to another's head and force him to give up his wealth; however, if that same thief uses a proxy to do the exact same thing, it is not only not evil it is good and moral and necessary.
The proxy is the government.
And, no, 50%+1 does not make anything properly "of the people." If 50%+1 of the population can vote away the rights and property of the 50%-1 minority, then this minority is enslaved and their voice is never heard. This is why a constitutional republic is important. The supreme law of the land should recognize individual rights to life, liberty, and property and there should be "no law" by anyone that can take such things away. Democracy should only function in rearranging the deck chairs of political offices for upholding the constitution, not for allowing the majority free reign to trample on the rights, property, and livelihood of the minority.
