the Klez virus

Just a notification here: there is virus/worm which has achieved global scale. It is called the Klez virus:

You can be a victim of it and not have it. This is important to know, as I spent two hours this morning scanning for a virus which I didn't have, but which I, like thousands and thousands of others, am a victim of.

I have all kinds of firewall, anti-virus, and V-shield protection. Thus I will not GET the virus into my computer, but that will not stop me from being victimized.

Here is how: someone who has my email in their addressbook has the virus. The virus goes through their address book and picks up email addresses. These picked-up addresses are then used as the RETURN addresses on multiple fake emails so what YOU will get in your email box are hundreds, if not thousands (eventually) of "undeliverable" messages! I am currently getting 40-50 a day and the only thing I can do is delete them, as the problem does not originate with me, but with someone else who is infected who has my email address.

I'm posting this just to help anyone out there not panic and save time doing the scans I had to do this morning. If you are up-to-date on your virus protection downloads, you should be fine. You personally will not get or spread the virus.

Suggestion: download either Norton or McAfee virus protection programs! And then keep updated.
