    Whoa there a minute Sister!! You should have made double the size wings and pigs in a blanket yesterday. That's what they did in the OT in regards to gathering manna. If you heat them up, you're profaning the Sabbath, and your house might cave in. This wouldn't be kosher, would it? Oy vey!! :laugh: :love2:

    I'm delighted to be agreeing on this matter with my brother Kyredneck. God gave ten Commandments, not nine, and those commandments were of a different order to the rest of the Mosaic law (Deut 5:22).

    'If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and doing as you please on my holy day; if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD's holy day honourable, and if you honour it by not going your own way and not doing what you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land, and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob. The mouth of the LORD has spoken' (Isaiah 58:13-14).

    No but I have allot of Jewish friends & one is a Rabbi (he is a great guy & very committed to his faith)....he is even teaching me Hebrew. The Yiddish is just schmaltzy humor.

    now I will have to find a guy from one of Jerseys Diners teach me Greek so I can play with the big Dawgs.

    I think all of the ten commandments were reinforced in the New Testament, except one: the Sabbath.

    Tom, do you buy into this "New Covenant Theology" ..... I personally struggle with anything with the title NEW.

    Yes, the CT/NCT rift in the new Reformed Baptist movement developed several decades ago ostensibly over this sabbatarianism issue. But John Reisinger points out it was mostly a manufactured issue by certain leaders to deflect attention from criticism of their extreme authoritarianism:

    It's not a question of whether I buy into NCT; it's a question of what the scriptures day.

    Please define New Covenant Theology for me, and I can tell you whether I buy into it. Also, why do you have problems with "New?"

    When I said all but one of the Ten Commandments were reinforced in the New Testament, here's one I had in mind:
    Ephesians 6:1
    That sounds like "Honor thy Father and they Mother" to me.

    EWF,
    I am not speaking of a rigid , legalistic chore.....I am speaking of delighting in God's word....EWF....do you make any preparation for sitting under the word preached at all...or do you just tumble out of bed and show up...no prayer? no anticpation of meeting with the living God??? just casually show up and put in time?

    EWF....have you studied this out and come to your ideas...or have you not really considered that The Lord is also Lord of how we use our time.

    Maybe I am wrong....show me where Pastor Ferguson has this wrong in this short article;
    it takes only a few minutes to read...a bit longer if you want to interact with the verses....
