    Premillenial.
    Re 20:2
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
    Re 20:3
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
    Re 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
    Re 20:5
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
    Re 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
    Re 20:7
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
    Re 20:8
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
    Re 20:9
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
    Re 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
    Re 20:11
¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
    Re 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
    Re 20:13
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
    Re 20:14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
    Re 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

All this takes place AFTER the Second Coming. No symbolism, no allegory, just plain language.

    In HIS service;
    Jim

Premillenial because that's what a literal interpretation of Scripture leads to.

Amillennial because that is consistent with a literal interpretation of the words of Jesus Christ in John 5:28, 29. It is also consistent with the proper interpretation of all Scripture.

Amill. But, I rather to call it, 'Eternality Kingdom' than amill. Because, Bible teaches us, the kingdom of God is not limited time, it is an eternality according to Daniel 7:14, 18, and 27.

Premil emphasis on Revelation chapter 20, 'a thousand years' is a literal exactly length time.

Premil have lot of problems with Bible.

Throughout all in the Bible of 65 books, do not teaching us, that Christ shall set Jerusalem(modern city or earthly city) as world's capitol for 1000 years, reign with Christ for a limited time. All of 39 authors of the Bible never teaching about millennial kingdom.

I am sure that some of premills might saying Revelation 20 is a progressive revelation. Progressive revelation is a step to step to revealing people to understand the mystery getting better in process.

For example, Genesis 3:15 is a perfect example for progressive revelation. Old Testament saints do not understand of Genesis 3:15, what it talks about in their time. Till when Christ came to earth, and he defeated Satan by Calvary, then afterward, New Testament saints now understand what Genesis 3:15 talks about.

One premil pastor showed me of Dan. 12:4 - 'shut up the word, and seal the book', he said, this shows us, the mystery of millennial kingdom is not yet reveal to us till Apostle John wrote it in year 95 A.D.

But, Dan. 12:4 does not prove us as hint on millennial kingdom. None find anywhere in the Bible teaching us of millennial kingdom.

I understand Daniel 12:4 speaks of the times, people were not understand the mysteries of the prophecies, till the time comes, then, people shall be finally to understand the mystery. For a good example - Col. 2:17; Heb. 10:1 'Shadow of things to come' speak of Jesus Christ.

Also, Daniel 12:4 is a good example of the signs. That we are seeing the technology and our knowledge have been increasing so rapid in the last days.

Premill only stress or emphasis focus on Revelation chapter 20, because of 'a thousand years' say so.

How about Psalms 50:10 "the cattle upon a thousand hills."? Is this literal?

How about Psalm 105:8 "he commanded to a thousand generations."? Is this literal?

We have to be realize that the book of Revelation is filled with symbols and figrative meanings.

I want to tell you, I do believe in literal things what verses in the Bible saying.

Depend on what the grammar or sentence talking about.

When we interpreting verse, many things are spiritual meaning, these are showing us, as it is reality and literal meanings.

For example, 'seven hills' of Rev. 17:9, are they literal exactly number of hills? Or, does it saying a woman sits on the seven hills - literally? No. It shows us, the symbol meaning. I understand Rev. 17:9 speaks of evil system is control over the seven hills. The seven hills are represent seven continents. That means, evil system is rule over the wordl, so called, 'New World Order', it is evil spiritual system, BUT, it is real and dangerous. Understand my point?

So, Revelation chapter 20 is a heavily symbol meaning and spiritual. I want to tell you, Revelation chapter 20 is NOT a myth or just a "spiritualize". It is REAL and now activity.

I better explain and discuss on Revelation chapter 20 deeper in another post next time.

Amill can easily point to John 6:39,40,44,54, that the resurrection shall be occur on the 'LAST DAY', no other else as any times of events or phases.

Matthew 25:31-46 is more sound and clearly loud telling us, there shall be the only ONE judgment day follow Christ's coming. Very simple and plain.

    In Christ
    Rev. 22:20 -Amen!

    If the events in Rev. 20 are happening now then explain this;
    Re 20:2
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
    Re 20:3
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled:

Tell me please how it is that Satan is NOT deceiving the nations right now. If you cannot, then I submit your whole house has crumbled.

Explain 2 Peter 3...If, in the day of the Lord, the heavens and the earth will pass away, there is not time for the Millennium. If nations as a whole will be converted during the Millennial Kingdom, why is God being longsuffering now like 2 Peter 3 teaches us? Jesus said that He would raise His people at the LAST DAY. Jesus also said that those who reject His word, the same word will judge them at the LAST DAY. How can you put a thousand years between them? Jesus said all would come forth from their graves. I don't see how someone can ignore the plain statements of Scripture and take a literal view of a book full of symbols. I don't believe the Lord would want us to take one chapter literal at the expense of everything else He said. When Satan is unloosed at the end of the thousand years he deceives the nations and they seek destroy the saints. There is hostility toward the cause of Christ here in this world, but not on that scale...At least not at this moment

Um...PB? Let's stick to the reference shall we?

    Rev.20:2&3

IF there is NO Millenial Reign, IF it is only symbolic, THEN what do you do with THIS passage?
    This is a simple question.
IS SATAN NO LONGER DECEIVING THE NATIONS?

Simple question requiring an answer of your peoples' camp.

I'll get to that as soon as you answer the question.

Simple! The Apostle Paul tells us in 2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Even though Scofield wrote a book with that title you dispy's have never learned.

Good post. Amillennialism has been recognized as not being a suitable name for that doctrine but none of its adherents have come up with a better one.

    Old Regular,

I know your Pastor. What is his theological stance on this? If there is a difference between you two, how do you handle it?

    Just curious.

First, Revelation 20 does not necessarily have to chronologically follow Revelation 19. In Revelation 12, the birth of Christ and the subsequent persecution of the church was communicated to John through symbolism. Therefore, we already have a precedent for not interpreting the Revelation in chronological order. "And I saw" only describes the order in which John saw the visions.

Second, In Revelation 20, John saw an angel bind Satan. We know that Satan was bound during the personal ministry of Christ. In Matthew 12, the Pharisees accused to Jesus of casting out devils by Beelzebub. Jesus replied, "But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house." In the parallel passage in Luke 11:22, the idea is that of stripping the strong man of his armour and weapons. In other words, Christ has rendered Satan unable to resist the kingdom of God. "And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Keys to what? The kingdom of heaven! Why give him keys to something inaccessable? In Luke 10:18, Jesus said, "...I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

Third, Satan is bound from deceiving the nations. At the end of the thousand years, Satan will deceive the nations. What will the nations do when they are deceived? They will revolt against the church and seek to detroy her. That is exactly what Satan is being restricted from doing today; launching a revolt against the cause of Christ here in this world so as to destroy it. Could Satan deceive the nations and destroy the church of God now if he wanted to? No. Therefore, Satan is bound.

Whether you agree with it or not, does this answer your question? Now, 2 Peter 3.

    May God Bless...

Primitive Baptist: "Explain 2 Peter 3...If, in the day of the Lord, the heavens and the earth will pass away, there is not time for the Millennium. "

Simple. Day of the Lord = the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus, the Christ.
How about that, a 1,000 year long "day".

The 70th week of Daniel is also called a "day" but
that is just a 7-year "day".

Primitive Baptist: "Jesus said that He would raise His people at the LAST DAY."

There it is, the 70th week of Daniel "day".

    Ain't got wonderful [IMG]
