Now part of the Iraq funding bill, the minimum wage proposal has been sweetened with small-business tax breaks.
Swept back into power last November, Democrats in Congress placed a minimum-wage hike atop their “100 Hour Agenda” in January. The measure, bolstered by the passage of minimum-wage ballot initiatives that passed in six states, sailed through the House. Over two years, it would raise the minimum by $2.10 per hour to $7.25.

What in the world does the minimum wage have to do with the Iraq spending bill?

It'll be cannon fodder for the '08 hypocrats, you know, so they can show the American people how mean ole' Bush voted against the minimum wage.

The Congress passes a mininum wage while at the same time authorizing the Federal Reserve which inflates our money supply and drives down the value of the dollar in which the minimum wage is paid.

    You got it.

By attaching it to a bill they know will be vetoed, they want to be able to say Bush vetoed it.

They do this knowing he has stated he will sign the minimum wage bill when it gets to his desk.

There will also be more people out of work, the dollar will be devalued, etc.
