Which of the 9 gifts of the Holy Ghost, listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, do you believe are still in effect today? All, some, none? If you wish to comment, please provide scriptures of why or why not.

I think they all remain. Some will say tongues have ceased according to 1 Cor 13:8-10, but this refers to His second coming. I have no scriptural reference for why I believe this, but don't get me wrong I think tongues are very rare if at all, it is an abused thing today in Charasmatic circles.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

New prophecies and new knowledge have ceased, just as the Bible says they would, for we know you cannot add new prophecies and new knowledge to the Bible.

As for 1 Corinthians 13:10, “but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears”, nowadays tongue speakers claim that tongue speaking will not cease until Jesus comes again. However, that scripture does not say tongues will stop when Jesus comes again. The prophets in the Old Testament prophesied about Jesus, and prophets in the New Testament prophesied about our salvation.
When you only have prophesy in part, it is imperfect, it is imperfect because the prophesy is in “part” or not yet fulfilled. However, when there is fulfillment of prophecy or more prophecy for what we need to know, then we have full understanding, so then, it is perfect and, that which is perfect is come. The Old Testament believers waited a long time for God to reveal Jesus to us. From the Bible, we see that God has revealed Jesus. The Bible has everything we need to know for salvation. It is perfect. The New Testament is the “perfect law” given to us, James 1:25. The apostles from the New Testament received all the truth we need to guide us to eternal life, and they wrote this down in the Scriptures: John 16:13; 2 Peter 1:3; Acts 20:20, 27; Matthew 28:20; I Corinthians 14:37; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Romans 16:25-27. Prophecies and new knowledge ceased after the Apostles finished writing what would be in the Bible, and that is when tongues also ceased...just as the Bible says.

Nowadays tongue speakers, while trying to copy the real tongue speaking as is in the Bible, they discount completely that if they do not interpret what they say, even when praying in tongues to God only...then their mind is fruitless. Surely, a fruitless mind is not something one should be aiming for in personal prayer times.

The New Testament is of very special times, to say the least. God through Jesus Christ gives salvation to us, and God testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will (Hebrew 2:1-4). God still answers prayers, and heals, and does miraculous things; however, the foundation has been laid (Eph 2:20), and there is no other time like that time!

The believers in the Bible times who spoke in tongues, they spoke in tongues supernaturally. The believers who supposedly speak in tongues nowadays, they speak gibberish and believe God turns their gibberish into supernatural language, and that is a false doctrine.

If a gift that has stopped according to your belief, then manifested in someone, would you say that is the work of Satan?

I can’t give any scriptural evidence of cessation of miraculous gifts, it’s simply my observation that the miraculous gifts are not prominent in the church today.

I wouldn’t give a percentage but would say that the majority of the miraculous manifestations that are claimed today are charades given by deceived or deceiving charlatans.

I see a simple division in the gifts given by the Spirit: those that are related to administration and those that are miraculous.

There are rare instances where I concur that God has intervened in extraordinary ways…

but I have a lot of trouble authenticating a gift of prophecy in the presence of a completed canon:

Related to this is the gift of tongues and their interpretation; if they are truly from the Spirit shouldn’t we record these utterances and give them the same weight as scripture?

There is no scripture that declares that any gifts have stopped. What gets exhibited today and labeled as these gifts is a farce.

For instance, I would not say that all who was speaking tongues was showing a manifestation of Satan, though maybe some are showing a manifestation.. However, I do believe when people speak in copycat tongues, Satan and his demons are entertained by it.

There is speaking in tongues that I do think could be an actual manifestation an evil spirit. Watch this video.

Please note the complete absence of these "sign" gifts from the list in Romans 12:8-13. Paul wished to go to Rome in order to impart these "sign" gifts (Rom. 1:11) that are imparted through the laying on of apostolic hands (Acts 8:17-19; 19:6; 2 Tim. 1:5) which distinguish the office of apostle (2 Cor. 12:12) as they are the "signs" of the apostolic office. They could not be called the "signs" of an apostle if they were common to all believers. Paul established the congregation at Corinth but no apostle had established the five congregations in Rome (Rom. 16:3-15).

I believe all these "sign" gifts ceased with the last living child of God upon whom received the laying on of hands by an Apostle.

So, I do not believe any human being today as such "sign" gifts except the apostles of Satan (2 Thes. 2:9; Mt. 24:24-25). What many call the gift of "tonuges" today is the common ordinary humanistic variety of ecstatic utterances found in all world relgions today. All the "mind" cults today and new age "god men" practice the same kind of healing that is found among Pentecostals/charismatics today and do it the very same way - mind manipulation. However, the mind is powerful and there are healing powers inherent in the human mind that are released by positive thinking or what doctors call the "sugar pill" effect.

God still heals people today. God did not say healing would stop. While healings today might not happen in the same kind of magnitude as when the Apostles were speaking the Gospel for the first time, healing from God does still happen.

I doubt if there is anyone here that would deny that healings happen today. God heals. We know that.

But does anyone have the "gift of healing." If they did they would be able to up and down the corridors of the hospitals and heal all that came to them. That was the gift of healing. That is what Jesus did. And that is what Peter did.

Acts 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Anyone you know that can replicate the gift of healing that Peter had?

We are not talking about God healing anyone. We are talking about gifted people who heal others.

I know what you are talking about, and I replied. I will make it clearer for you…
There are people who can ask God for a healing on someone and they get a healing.

The OP is not talking about the power of prayer. I have prayed for many for whom the Lord healed but I do not claim the gift of healing. The OP is not talking about the power of God. God can heal without your prayers if he so chooses.

You really have a problem with admitting you are just wrong! A man cannot be saved without admitting they are wrong and you really have a problem admitting your wrong when it is so obvious that the OP is talking about people gifted with the power to heal others. It is not talking about answers to prayer or that God can heal. Note the subject is about nine "GIFTS"!!!! I don't see "prayer" listed do you??????

Yes, I have had that experience. I have prayed for certain individuals in my ministry and I have seen them healed.
But I have never been able to go through a hospital and heal everyone.
That is the equivalent of what Peter did:

Acts 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Anyone you know that can replicate the gift of healing that Peter had?

Note: Not only from Jerusalem, but from all the cities all around Jerusalem did they bring their sick to Peter. And these were not just people with "Psychosomatic illnesses." These were the blind, the lame, the deaf, the crippled, the ones that had very obvious deformities and illnesses. And they were healed every one. He didn't turn back a single one. He healed them all--thousands of them. Who does that today??

Some people who pray for others might have the gift to do so. You have assumed more falseness about me.

Go back and reread what I posted. I said, "While healings today might not happen in the same kind of magnitude as when the Apostles were speaking the Gospel for the first time, healing from God does still happen."

Would say the gift of healing as paul had disappeared, also the signs gift have, as Bible is the completed revelation of God to us!

Others would still be in place though....

    Topic of the thread:

The Nine Gifts of the Spirit

We agree that God heals. This topic concerns nine specific gifts mentioned in the OP. We are not concerned with the healings of the kind of magnitude that you are speaking of, but rather the Biblical gifts of the Spirit spoken of in 1Cor.12. Those gifts are not in operation today as is evidenced by Acts 5:16.
