I think all translations have their place. Except when they are obviously heretical etc etc.

Nothing interferes with God's Soverign Will and Council. We tend to argue so much over small things. God's Elect will be saved and that is the end of it. I agree that we need to protect though, so I guess that's what we do when we enter into debate over things.

    Thanks

    David

Again , would any of you like to demonstrate that the renderings of the NKJ are superior to that of the alternative wordings I gave ? No pronouncements please , just specifics .

I don't know how you're supposed to accomplish the task of indicating whether or not a given rendering is awkward or not without a point of reference to compare it with .

Compare them all with the KJB, it's a good rule of thumb. Even when you just need to thumb others about their preferences.:tongue3:

Would DC or anyone else like to share some info about how the NKJV uses more elegant English and is indeed more faithful to the original languages regarding the examples I cited ? So far I have just heard generalized claims . Please get specific .

This thread isn't about the KJV, Salamander. You're trying to hijack another thread and promote your KJVO myth.

I object to this kind of attack. This is only one of the dozens I have seen .

If you all don't stop it, I'm going to report it to the moderator.

Apparently this is an impossible task.
