The only church within 300 miles

    I would look at why I am in that area, then ask God what He wants me to do. Either I placed myself there or He did. If I did, then I'd go to the Lutheran church until another church was available, because I would realize I was not in a position to lead my own church. But if the Lord placed me there, then I would have to accept that he was looking at the possibility of starting a church in that desolate area.

    Ahhh, but if you placed yourself there out of God's will, is that reason to go to the Lutheran church? Maybe God would have you move back to where you left ...

    Just a thought

    Is there anywhere in the country like this. I live in Utah and I dont think there is anywhere in this state you are 300 miles away from a Baptist church. Let alone other denoms.

    I was stationed in Wildflecken, Gy back in 1980. There were no nearby (english-speaking) Baptist churches. I did attend the chapel a couple of times. The chaplain preached on the war horrors of WWII. Never once did he open his Bible! I then considered starting a Bible Study. A couple weeks later the Baptist Fellowship and Bible Study commenced on a week day night at the Service Center. After, a few months and several people, we decided to start Sunday Services. We then constitued into a local independent Baptist church. The church continued until the US Army moved out. In fact there is now a German speaking church in Wildflecken!
    So, what would I do if there was no church within 300 miles. Probally, the same thing I did in Wildflecken!

    I have a friend that's Missouri Synod. I'd give it a shot. I might not stay, but I'd visit. Besides, just think what you might learn :D

    If it just wasn't going to sit well, then I'd try to start my own. NO, let me rephrase that, I'd help my sweet husband start a new church.

    If the only church within 300 miles of your home was a Lutheran church, what would you do?

    There is nowhere in this country, or possibly on this continent that this situation could occur, so why the question Craig?
