Has anyone used this bible? I have owned one for the past 4 yrs or so but haven't used it much. It is made by Nelson and is a NKJV. Any comments on it?

I used to have one, the book intros are very good. The thing that bothered me is placing notes at the end of each verse - very distracting in the middle of God's Word...

They recently released a NASB version using the older NASB, (1976?) that I would love to have except for the annoyance noted above...

This was the first study Bible I owned. It was NASB probably 1976 ed.. I also liked the book intros. I liked the cyclopedic index in the front and the Christian life outlines I think written by Porter Barrington. There were other study aids that found useful as well. I have a newer edition that I don't like near as well.

I have used a KJV Open Bible since 1975. It is the one that is open onmy desk at the moment. I love it. My son has a newer version that is still good, but left out many of the features.

I have a 1985 edition of the Open Bible that uses the NKJV for the text. It has a handy little chapter in it on the "The English Bible and its Development." This chapter includes a paragraph or two on a number of the translations of the Bible into English. I have a bookmark in that chapter, so I apparently read at least part of this chapter, but other than that, I have probably never used my Open Bible.

I have one of the 1990 editions in the NKJV. I find the information at the beginning of each book helpful along with other study helps. My edition does not have notes attached to the text. Has good concordance and topical study helps also.
