Well, I don't know what happened to our thread, it seems to have got lost in the move.

It is a bright and sunny day here in Gloucestershire. I was in the garden early, dead-heading the roses.

Rob has made some new staging for the garden...it is sort of overflow from the greenhouse. Here is a pic if you would like to see:

Thanks Sheila for reopening this. Mary was just out deadheading roses as well.

Another bright, dry, spring day in Ireland.

    On the table for today.

Sermon preparation and .... World Cup. USA play tonight at 8.

I've really missed gardening since I've gone back to school. Getting out there is really hit or miss. Thank goodness I've got enough from the past that we have color all year long! But I've got some poor empty pots on the porch that look -- well poor and empty.

Thanks for sharing the pix Sheila!

We are venturing into a little gardening.

We set up a small herb garden in the back garden. The smells are lovely!

I had an herb garden on the back porch once Roger. They don't take up much room and there's nothing like going out and snipping them fresh for a meal!

Well, its good to see the Tea Shop up and running again.

I love gardening. We still have to wait a bit longer before we can get rid of the daffodil leaves. They look beautiful when they are out, but I don't like waiting for the leaves to die down...too untidy.

Roger, I have got quite a few herbs, but I need to re-establish a herb bed again. The raspberries have quite taken over my little veggie patch. Some things like the rosemary and sage have become too woody so I will take cuttings and start afresh. I love growing herbs, but there again I love growing most plants. We are over run with tomatoes plants this year. I sort of got carried away... We will soon be picking loganberries. Strawberries are starting to turn red now and the rhubarb is doing splendidly this year.

Going outside now to enjoy the sun for a little while and pot up some cuttings.

    God Bless

    Sheila

Good morning! We had another pour of rain in the night, but the land is in great need, so that is a blessing for sure.

This year, we planted all our creeping plants in old tyres. Filled them with manure and soil, then planted things like cucumbers, watermelon and the like,,,,things that make a mess in garden plot as they spread about. So far it is working out. To be continued.........

Sheila, when we get a suny day, I will try and get a few photos of that workshop I said I was building, and post them here.

    Cheers,

    Jim

The kids called and said they want to come home for the weekend. Now I really have to get some planting done!

    Sheila and Rob,
Just waiting for a sunny day when Mary is home. She works the camera.

Yo-day, it is supposed to rain again, but Mary is off strawberry picking. She should be back in a few hours.....just in time for the rain to start again.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS Is that a word? Yo-day....

Hi guys - sorry to be so tied up. We are trying to get our leaflets out in between rain showers, not around here very much at the moment.

Mid-July is coming and with it a little slower schedule

Glad to share what I can, Sheila. I am not always so successful with photos on the computer. I must leave that to Mary.

We are having quite a time of it around this area. Two, rather large, Anglican Churches are considering closing for lack of vicars. I have been invited to assist, but I am not sure I could handle it. They are 40-50 miles away from me.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I guess the double photos have thrown everyone into a tizzy,,,they have stopped posting altogether.

It is another glorious day here. A little cloudy, and perhaps a little rain later on.

It was marvellous to go outdoors this morning and see two deer enjoying the fresh leaves on my new plum trees. We got rather close with the camera. One stamped his feet as we got closer and then decided to show us his white tail in flight.

We often see five deer at the apple trees, but seldom this close to the house.

I am trying to get a photo of the black bear that often creeps into the front garden,,,,,,,,,,,but I think at a greater distance...

    Cheers,

    Jim

I glance at the first seven threads in this forum, beyond this common house of fellowship and the devotionals, and I am aghast. I see the Board going downhill further and further and wonder if I will remain. I can only post in two or three areas and frankly I have lost all interest.

    Cheers, and tearfully,

    Jim:tear:

    Jim,

Rob and I have been away for a few days. Our friends in Wales needed help with a leaking roof in their mobile home. Rob thinks it is fixed now. We will know more when it rains.

Looks like there is a lot of catching up to do in here. I am busy with other things at the moment. There is always plenty to do in the garden at this time of year.

    Blessings

    Sheila
