Gets pretty quiet in here. If we don't use it, we could lose it. Might have to encourage Dan to double post again.

Cold here in Ontario. Down to 8 over night and still only 11...Almost time to build the igloos for winter.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well after thunder and floods on Tuesday and Thursday it is still hot and humid with more storms forecast.
On Sunday we drive down to Kent to collect Luke and Zoe and we will drive home again on Monday.
We have discovered that Leo goes loopy about knitting wool. He picks up a ball of wool out of the basket and runs off with it. I thought taking up knitting again might help my concentration.
I hope everyone is having a good day. I am off for a wander.

    Roger,

Thank you. Luke and Zoe will either sleep most of the journey or chatty and ask for a constant supply of "Jesus music" (praise tapes) on the way back. Rob and I are really looking forward to seeing them again. They are growing up so quickly.

    Bed time here I think,

    Good night everyone, God Bless

    Sheila

    Good Morning Everyone.

A bright and sunny morning here. Rob is putting roofing felt on the new shed. It is really progressing well, but has been delayed a bit this week because of the storms.

Roger, we are taking Luke and Zoe to see our friends in Wales. They haven't seen Luke since he was three weeks old and have never seen Zoe. The children will love it I know. Four and a half acres to run around in. The nearest main road almost a mile away. We are taking kites and frisbies... = two worn out grandparents I think.
I hope everyone has a good day. I have stacks of ironing to tackle, so will listen to praise tapes to liven things up a bit.

    Back later,

    God Bless

    Sheila

    Cheers Sheila,

A foretaste of heaven it is to enjoy the grandchildren. How precious the time spent with them. Enjoy your trip to Wales: Gwlad y gan...the land of song.

Happy travelling, Sheila, and God bless.

    Jim

    Roger,

If they can possibly be still long enough I will try and get some photos.

Please pray for our friends, that they will listen to us about Jesus if we get the opportunity. They are not saved and the husband is coming 85.

    Blessings

    Sheila

Jan and I went to Kelly and Elizabeth's house today. Birthday party for their sons.

Ryan and Kari were there with their two children - Libby turned 3 on July 30.

Five grandchildren - five gifts. Can't leave any of them out - had a great - but short visit.

Tired - been a busy week!

Dan - to tired to double post!

Checked the string beans today - they needed picking - I picked them - snipped them - cut them up.

Jan got the canning jars ready - and tomorrow morning she will can 16 pints of home grown string beans.

I hate frozen string beans - only way to preserve them - canning!

Won't they taste good this winter? Yum! I love to see all the jars on my pantry shelves...so pretty-different colours, sizes. When the children were home, I used quarts, now a pint will do. Daughter cans meat/fish...not my favourite thing to see. Now I do like to see hams and sausages hanging in a smokehouse!

    Hello Everyone,

We are safely home with Luke and Zoe. They are running around in the garden. We had good travelling to and from Kent. Yesterday we stopped and worshipped with Roy 1 and Mary at their church. We had a lovely warm welcome and we found the service a real blessing.

We are off now to collect Leo, so I will try and look in later. I had forgotten how much energy young children have...

    Blessings

    Sheila

    Good morning.

Glad to see that everyone is active with family things, whether it be kiddies or canning. We don't can anything. Everything in season.

At one church, a woman used to bring me a dozen eggs each week,,,,,in a jar, already broken. I had to spoon out my breakfast. I never did ask her why. She was an environmentalist before her time. She talked about the foam in the rivers and the ills of using aluminium pots and pans. The egg thing may be one of my first questions in glory.

I am tardy to-day. Can't seem to get anything moving. Must get the brain in gear soon and do something worthwhile.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

Please excuse my ignorance by I don't understand "tardy". I have never heard the expression before.

    God Bless

Talked to Roy yesterday and he told me you had been there. They enjoyed seeing you again.

So thrilled for you to have the grandkids!

Tardy is just another word for late ;) .

    Hi Sheila,
Strict meaning for tardy is "slow to respond".

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim and Roger,

What you mean is you are slow to get going today. Yes, I have days like that, but if I don't push it then it generally turns out to be a good day. I am not a morning person.

Well, off to sort out dinner, will try and get back later.

    God Bless

    Sheila

There were times I was tardy for school - meaning I was late.

That was not a good thing - and if tardy too many times - one had to spend time in the principals office!
