    Proverbs 1:20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
    21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
    22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
    23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
    24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
    25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
    26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
    27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
    28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
    29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
    30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
    31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
    32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
    33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

    Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

    Wow.......a little more sunshine for the Island surrounded by another "Jesus" and another "Gospel". Not to worry though......anyone who has studied the Book can see the counterfit quite easily.

    Diane---did you read my last few posts??? Ain't no blindness in Blackbird's "beady" eyes---I see the movie as reaking of Catholicism that feeds on heresy and that moves in its mission to blaspheme the Holy Spirit of God! Thats all!

    Nothing like hangin out in Granny G's kitchen where the gumbo is always "fresh" and delicious, serving up the Good Lord's "feast" of Truth. Hmmm.....hmmmmm.....gooooooood!

    It would be wise if some of the "wayward" chillin on this board started cleaning up their plate, or Granny might have to send you to your room.

    On Sunday, my pastor is going to use a couple of video clips from The Gospel of John. We have the DVD, so today I had to "find" the various clips he wants to use.

    I watched as Jesus washed the disciples feet (from John 13); I watched the crucifixion (from John 19); and I watched the resurrection (from John 20).

    Some have said on other threads that this movie is too long and slow-moving. I am here to tell you I was moved to tears as I watched again these parts of the movie. The Gospel of John is word-for-word scripture, and I found it absolutely riveting.

    There is NO Catholic interpretation of what happened. The crucifixion scenes are very graphic, and I had to look away. I saw all I needed to see of Christ's suffering for my sins. I really CANNOT imagine watching up to 2 hours of this.

    The resurrection portrayed is beautiful. The scene of Peter and John running to the tomb, running inside and seeing the limp bedclothes left when Jesus rose from the tomb is incredible. The scene where Mary looks into the tomb, encounters the two angels and then sees Jesus is just awe-inspiring.

    There is NOTHING in this movie that is not word-for-word right out of the book of John. If people feel a need to see a movie to "help them better appreciate and understand what Christ did for us on the cross", I would HIGHLY recommend this movie. It is realistic and it is pure scripture.

    No, S&T, never have been down to Lafayette, that I'm aware of...I did live in DeRidder at one time. I'm originally from Mississippi.

    We did have some mudbugs this weekend, as we had several street-preachers in for the Franklin Parish Catfish Festival. And yes, we also had fried fish & 'gator tails.

    Last year they turned us and our signs away, but this year we had reinforcements...altho' one did get falsly arrested along with his 16 y/o son.

    I really hope the folks are packing the church houses the way they're packing the movie houses, but we know that ain't happening, eh?

    I have a buddy of mine who travels as often as he can to the mountains of west Mexico---he says its way, way, way up in the remotest part of remote----I wish I could travel with him sometimes---but he rides in a Christian motorcycle club and I don't have a "bike" anymore!!

    Anyway--he was telling me that they go into these mountain villiages with a 5hp generator, a film projector, a speaker system and a projector screen---and they show the Jesus film---people come from miles around to see whats happening!

    He says that the Mexican people in those villiages are so hungry for the gospel that you can get a crowd together and recite John 3:16--then give an invitation and they'll run down the isle---wanting to know how to be saved!!

    Good post, CJ!!

    Granny??? It usually takes about a 5 gallon bucket of those crawfish to fill Blackbird's little tummy!!!

    CJ,

    You know I like you, but I can't agree on the word for word thing, because it is the Good News bible. Why did they choose that translation?

    CJ,

    Thanks for that. It sounds more like a film I would like to see. Don't know if it will come out here, but I may have a look to see if I can order it from Amazon.

    Thank you for your review, CJ.
