I was not speaking of you, Mexdeaf. I do know that the poster in question appears to spend an inordinate amount of time finding loony websites and posting all day, every day. I go by what I see. This alone would be bad enough, yet he puts down working men and women's rights while living off the goodwill of others.

Here you have it folks. When you have nothing and cannot defend your own position you fabricate things about others you hate.

Does that include all the ideas the GOP was pushing for before Obama's first election, but suddenly opposed as soon as Obama proposed the same idea?

Remember the good Republican who filibustered his own idea when the Democrats accepted it?

That is exactly what you do all the time ... and of course you do post from far out, very biased web sites.

Your other tactic is to never answer questions or just remain silent.

Remember the GOP held a secret meeting in 2008 before Obama took office in 2009 and agreed to be obstructionist and oppose anything he proposed or indicated he was in favor of ... and, of course, they have done just that .... and again have opposed ideas they were pushing for previously.

Maybe you should do some research before making such comments. The President never pushed for the exact same ideas. Ever. He took similar ideas and added his won garbage to them making them unacceptable.

But let's not forget the famous words of Obama when they had control of both houses:

"You can come along for the ride but you will have to sit in the back of the bus"

Rev. read Lee Iaocco's comment that the auto industries problem was they became complacent and arrogant and turned out shoddy automobiles. Japan took advantage of this and just about drove the US auto industries out of existence. It wasn't unions that almost killed the US auto industry. It was bad management who promoted and allowed inferior autos to be manufactured and sold.

Now, just a bit of history:

Remember the first auto bailout was under George W. Bush on December 19th 1980.

By the way, do you remember the bailout of Lockheed by Nixon in 1971?

Do you remember George Bush bailed out U.S. Air in 2001?

Neither of us is old enough to remember the bailout of the New York City Trusts in 1907.

Not so ... events leading up to their problems happened under the Bush watch.

Can we assume that since you spend so much time tracking Revmitchell you are either working at a government job or on 99 weeks unemployment insurance compliments of Darth Vadar?

Witch means nothing. The giving of poor loans began under Carter and was expanded under Clinton.

You correctly state that the auto companies turned out cars with shoddy workmanship. I believe that was the fault primarily of management.

That being said the quality of American produced cars for the last 15 years or more is as good as those from either Germany or Japan. BMW has a plant in South Carolina. Mercedes has one in Alabama and the Japanese companies have them all over the South. So the problem with the auto companies can not be blamed on the quality of their autos.

The problem with the auto companies was the exorbitant cost of pension and medical costs for employees and retirees. The problem was particularly bad at GM because they had so many retired workers. Frankly I don't blame unions, as corrupt as the auto workers union was. I blame management. Management gave into union demands and passed the cost on to the consumer. The time came, because of Japanese competition, when they could no longer do that. That is when the fan threw the stuff back and Obama shafted the GM bond holders and gave Chrysler to Italy.

If my memory is correct Jimmy Carter occupied the White House in December 1980.

Was it Nixon or the democrat Congress?
I don't remember but bailouts are a mistake as are all corporate subsidies starting with the land give away to Railroads in the 19th century.

I assume you have a legitimate birth certificate.

That was when the chickens came home to roost. The housing crisis was the result of democrat policies started under Clinton. The Republican contribution was not shoving a boot in Barney Franks mouth and addressing the problem while they still controlled Congress.

Which means nothing. Happened under Bush's watch. Bush increased the national dept something over 90%. No one has come close to that percentage increase ... not even Obama. And remember a president can only spend what Congress approves ... and the Republicans controlled Congress for a period of time under Bush.

I disagree with you a lot, Mitch, but you are spot-on, here.

M.P., you owe him an apology.

Come, come CTB. You are not being fair to Obama. Consider the facts:

    1. At the end of FY 2000 the National debt was $5.674 trillion. At the end of FY 2008 the debt was $10.024 trillion. During the 8 years of Bush the debt increased by $4.35 trillion or ~77%.

    2. At the end of FY 2012 the national debt was $16.066 trillion. During the 1st 4 years of Obama the debt increased by $6.042 trillion or ~60.3%.

But being fair to Obama he has only been working at it for 4 years. Just consider what he will be able to do in the next 4 years assuming the same success rate The National debt will be $16.066 + $6.042 or ~$22.11 trillion. That is a whopping increase for Obama of 120% or almost twice that of Bush.

Now I really think Obama will do better than those numbers show unless that old Republican House gets in his way. I expect the national debt will increase to at least $25 trillion dollars before Obama leaves office in 4 years.

Crabbie you just don't have enough confidence in "the man" or is it "the brother" as Cornel West would say!

Baloney. I call them like I see them. Mitch has continually made snide comments about me that had nothing to do with the topic, but they get a pass because of the leanings of the moderators. Expected.

Baloney right back. The only moderator who shows up in these debates is on your side.

How he makes a living or spends his time is none of your business. If you claim the moral high ground then stand on it.

Who's to blame for the mess we're in today? Who's been in charge for the last 100 years? Republicans and Democrats.

Ordinarily no. But when he puts down working men and women while living off donations of others, that deserves a call out.
