Since there are so many recalls, I am merging these threads into one main thread. Here is a source of info on Government Recalls:

(I hope this merging turns out correctly.)

US: Chinese Seafood Detained for Safety

    Jun 28, 6:22 PM (ET)
    By ANDREW BRIDGES

WASHINGTON (AP) - Farmed seafood has now joined tires, toothpaste and toy trains on the list of tainted and defective products from China that could be hazardous to a person's health.
Federal health officials said Thursday they were detaining three types of Chinese fish - catfish, basa and dace - as well as shrimp and eel after repeated testing turned up contamination with drugs unapproved in the United States for use in farmed seafood.

    In a related note:
I just saw on Yahoo news that the Chinese gvernment has executed their Food and Drug official for taking bribes which led to the massive contaminants being exported.

What do you suppose this new developement will signal to the world community, or to Americans for that matter. I could not find the story on the "Big Three" networks.

Yes, he was executed. Here's the story:

I can't help but wonder if they sold his organs on the black market, like they do so many people they execute. Sad.
