    Lea, the dead are conscious after they die. Wopik and I and others have discussed this on other threads.

    I have responded to the Eccl 9 passage at least twice on other threads. In context, it is simply saying that once you are dead, you are no longer on the earth and know nothing of earthly things.

    Jesus' body was in the grave, but Jesus and the thief, as he told the thief, were with God. Jesus does not lie, so when he told the thief that he (the thief) would be with Jesus in paradise that day, it was true.

    sure, open a thread. I didn't know paradise and heaven could be debated; don't know what the difference is.

    I guess air and water could be debated [​IMG]
