Abraham was visited by 3 men and he washed there feet and feed them now it says he was visited by the lord, so what I am getting at is who is the 3? Is it God or Jesus and 2 angels?

Preincarnate appearances of Christ are usually designated as "The Angel of the Lord." The word "angel" simply means messenger, so the three angels were Christ and two other messengers.

There is a difference, could not have been God for no man could look upon God and live is what the Bible tells us, so I was leaning toward Jesus and angels, so yea there is a big difference dont you think?

Rev's a nice guy. Maybe it's the Marine in him. That leather neck is hard to get rid of.

If in this post I cam across as unpleasant I apologize. Although I have to admit I know not what I am apologizing for or what was unpleasant.

    Perhaps it's the "um......."

Really? Well it is obvious and I was unsure why there was such a distinction being made between "God' and "Jesus". The ummm... was more about having a question not any ill intent.

I know, but to the ultra-sensitive it could have a ring of sarcasm.

I believe it's because you are usually a man of few words. You also tend to answer questions with questions.

I like it personally because it challenges one to search within but it does take getting accustomed to on a board like this.

I think we all forget that emotions and intent do not come across always on posts.

Dont worry about it, I have done lot of reserch since yesterday and I was trying to read to much into the three, for it was God or the Lord or Jesus they are one and the same. You made me hit the books and that is always good. I was having a bad day and misinterp your post for something that it was not. Got to remember m8 there is those like me just starting out I am a babe in the word but I am trying to catch up best I can. I am not a very educated man for I dropped out of school to join the military and served 10 yrs then became a over the road trucker for lot of years, I am in school now but I have a long road ahead so please bare in mind not all of us are old timers in the word.

Agreed, I am usually guilty of using the wrong word....

A pointed word where a more general word is more appropriate.
