    .....by Trey Gowdy

I think the person who opposes what he said about the integrity of Congress needs to have his head examined.

Maybe they'd be more respected if they lived and operated underneath the same laws that they pass?

    I'm just saying.

If there are all types of exemptions for members of Congress from so many of these laws that THEY pass, then why should they apply to anyone else? Why would anyone give a flying rip that the President ignores the law when the very people who pass the laws are themselves exempt from the laws?

Is it a Christian value to treat people the way you want to be treated? Or do we treat people one way while positioning ourselves to be treated another?

one at a time, zaac. one at a time. if I recall, Jessie Ventura ranted about 21 convicted lawmakers, who receive or received their pensions nevertheless.
I agree if you say this is not right.
But is that their fault ?
Or is it the laws and regulations that need to be amended.
I am sure that in due time, if there are more Trey Gowdy's with enough matter between their legs who would stand up, these things will be attended to.

But right now, there is a president who is a danger to the system of checks and balances in this country, a system of checks and balances which have been in place long before you and I were born, and Mr. Gowdy has stated it doesn't matter if the seated president is Republican or Democrat, that has to be addressed and he is right. He wasn't bashing Obama.

So, are YOU in favor of what Obama is doing which Mr. Gowdy wants addressed, or will you say let him be because they're all sinners anyway.

And here is the catch. Why on earth would we expect them to amend laws to which they are for the most part exempt? If you can be convicted, thrown out of office, and then still receive your tax-payer funded pension, why would you amend any laws?

Oh I know. I didn't think he was. He sounds like someone truly concerned about how out of control any adherence to the law has gotten.

But I'll steal a line from Rick Perry's performance during one of the Presidential Debates. If we want to start addressing the rule of law, send the Congressmen and women home. Let them live and operate underneath the same laws that they pass.

Congress at this point is no better than Obama. it's just that all of his stuff is put on blast everyday. Theirs goes unnoticed unless somebody more versed on these things than us brings it to our attention.

I think we have severe problems in all three branches of government right now when it comes to the rule of law. And it's getting worse.

I don't pay enough attention to what Obama is doing unless I see a news blip. I expect, without seeing what he's doing, for him to be making policies that push the United States out of its position of power in the world. I expect the same thing out of Congress.

I say let him unless you remove Congress too. But I, again, expect somebody, Obama or Congress, to lead the charge to the downfall of the US because Biblically it has to happen.

I lack humor. If you can type that, you can also do your own research.

That answer, is why you remain where you are. As much good as you do around here, and then you pull this.

Don't be a coward, Zaac(I apologize for the word, can't come up with a better one). Answer Salty's question. I'm interested, myself. Surely an educated guy in statistics like you would know it would have to be you to prove your assertion.

I'll name one. They can trade stocks the way the Martha Stewart did right before they sent her to prison.

And a lot of us DO care that congress does this, but when we complain, or bring up solutions, someone always tells up we worry too much about politics.

Curtis, you know that I don't have a problem with where I am.

Yes and no. Actually they cannot...at least not legally. There have been a couple of laws in the last few years that were designed to prevent them from insider trading. But they certainly haven't stopped Nancy Pelosi and a lot of other Congressmen and Senators from seeing "unusually" high returns on their investments.

This is one where they just keep doing what they have always done until someone investigates and shed some light on it again.

A lot of you do.

Part of the problem is Article 1, Section 6 of the Constitution that grants them immunity from a lot of things.

if you can pass a law and then break said law because you have immunity from prosecution, it doesn't do much.

So again, if they are breaking the laws they pass or essentially exempting themselves, what's the issue with the President ignoring the same laws?

I can see the PEOPLE complaining. But members of Congress don't much have a leg upon which to stand.

Because the meat of the laws were stripped out in committee. Congress lied to us.

What good will that do ? Obama's justice department is a joke.

No it doesn't. It basically says that can't be arrested for disagreeing with the president. They are not granted any exemptions from any laws, anywhere in the Constitution.

    see above.

You do realize that even history tells us the Democrat Party is going to take a beating. Answer pending the mid-terms.

hellllllllooooooo ? what part of "one at a time" was hard for you to understand ? to everything there is a season, zaac. have a little patience.

yes, he is. and whether you agree or not, I think here is someone who might be a heck of a lot better than anyone else that's been put up by both parties in a while.

you sound like you'll do better than he would, so why not try your hand at it.
I might even vote for you.

ALL of Obama's stuff is put on blast everyday ?
Last time I looked, the MSM still had the lion's share of the market, and they are still saying Obama's behind smells like roses, in so many words. and the ones they call the 'rightist' media ? they're still the minority.

The problem we have in all three branches of government is liberalism, that is the problem.

He's done that from the beginning of his first term, when he started apologizing to most of the world, specially the Muslim world.
