The veil???

    I have passed the "milk" portion of my walk and am now onto the "meats" section. My question is simply this...what is the veil?

    Are you asking about 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

    Main "veil" spoken of in the Bible was a curtain sewn together of so many layers that is was the thickness of a man's hand. It divided the holy place (2/3 of the interior Temple) from the holy of holies where the ark resided.

    It took many men to lift it and allow the priest to offer the annual sacrifice.

    When Christ was crucified, this curtain was torn into two sections, and from top to bottom (indicating it was done supernaturally and not from human initiative).

    I'm thinking Lori is implying the 'veil' that blinds the eyes of unbelievers such as is mentioned when scripture says 'when they read of Moses'... etc.

    Well I think Dr. Bob pretty much answered the question I had about it. I think it is one of those things I had heard about but wasn't entirely sure if it was a spiritual thing or an actual thing. In this case I suppose it was an actual curtain like apparatus used in the temple in Israel. One of the reasons I had asked this question is that I was passing by a church that had "The Vail" listed as it's topic for that week and wondered what they meant by that.
