Has anyone seen this new translation? It is written in the form of a screenplay, with the non-spoken part being descriptive or as dorections. Some folks from Dallas Seminary were involved. I think it is quite interesting, from a reading point of view. Comments?

I rec'd a free copy of when it first came out a couple years ago and read a little bit of it. There is at least one other NT presented in 'playscript' format (NKJV is the translation used in the one I saw). Here is a link to a previous discussion about The Voice on the BB --

Just heard Dr Bock from DTS interviewed last friday, and he was saying that the 'heat' from his team translating Christ instead as the Annoited One is "much to do about nothing!"

Agree with him on that one translation, as jesus is his name, but Christ a sur name that means the Annoited one!

It is not a "no Christ" situation. It is actually a more faithful translation. Those who are upset either do not know the actual meaning of the original Greek and Hebrew or they have embraced the traditional translation as "gospel".

"Jesus" is Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word meaning Savior (Matthew 1:21). "Christ" is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Messiah, meaning anointed, and refers to Jesus as the Messiah promised in Old Testament Scripture (Daniel 9:25-26; John 1:41; 4:25; Acts 2:36). While Jesus refers particularly to the Lord's humanity and incarnation by which He became a man to die for our sins, Christ refers particularly to the Lord's eternal deity as the Son of God.

I find it interesting that the name "Jesus" is found 983 times in the KJV, while in the Voice it is found 4036 times.

"Christ" is found 571 times in the KJV, while "Anointed One" is only found 488 times in the Voice.

Christ is a sur name, title, refers to him being the annoited one of God, messiah...

Son of God more refers to His aspect of diety!
