The way the LORD....wants to be worshiped

Here are my Sunday morning notes, from August 14, 2011

GRAB YOUR BIBLES Psalms 98:1-9
=======================
Today my message is going go be about...how God wants us to worship Him!
=======================
LETS READ THE TEXT Psalms 98:1-9
=======================

=======================
V.1A “O sing unto the LORD a new song;”
-THE SONG........THE LORD REALLY PUTS IN OUR HEARTS-
(When we are saved
Praising the LORD.......for our salvation:
--------------------------------------------------
His gift by Jesus Christ!
=======================
V.1B “for he hath done marvellous things:”
-THE TRUE SOURCE.....OF THIS PRAISE-
(Our understanding of all He has done for us
--------------------------------------------------
(1) The more you study, attend & pray:
(2) The more you will understand all He’s done:
(3) Therefore...the more you will want to praise Him!

V.1C “his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.”
-OUR SALVATION......CAME FROM A VICTORY OVER SATAN-
(When the Lord rose from the grave

The victory...won by Jesus!
--------------------------------------------------
The Lord Jesus...is the Father’s “right hand”!

V.2A “The LORD hath made known his salvation:”
-GOD'S PLAN OF SALVATION........IS SIMPLE-
(It’s the person of our Lord Jesus Christ
-And is available to everyone!-
--------------------------------------------------
This is our message to the world!
=======================
V.2B “his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.”
-WHY EVERY HUMAN BEING.......IS WITHOUT EXCUSE-
(Because.......God is righteous
--------------------------------------------------
And He shows this righteousness to everyone!
=======================
V.3A “He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel:”
-ONE PROOF......OF GOD'S "MERCY" AND "TRUTH"-
(That is constantly.....in the world’s face

The continued existence of the nation Israel:

In spite....of all that history has hit it with!

V.3B “all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.”
-STILL ANOTHER PROOF.....OF GOD'S "MERCY" AND "TRUTH"-
(The facts.....of natural revelation
That is also....constantly in the world’s face!

-THE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE.....OF USING LIGHT-
(1)Everyone has an opportunity to be saved:
(2)Because everyone will be faced with God’s existence:
(3)Giving them the opportunity to hear about Jesus!

V.4A “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth:”
-THE KIND OF WORSHIP...THE LORD WANTS FROM US-
(Joyful....worship

This is.....a general rule of worship:
It doesn’t have to be beautiful....or even in tune:
Just....from a joyful heart!

V.4B “make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”
-SOMETHING THAT COMES NATURALLY.....IN WORSHIP-
(Loudly....singing out our praise to the Lord

It’s comes naturally...because it’s from the LORD!
=======================
V.5A “Sing unto the LORD with the harp;”
-SETTLING A QUESTION.....SOME HAVE ABOUT WORSHIP-
(Yes....musical instruments are allowed
--------------------------------------------------
Regardless....of man’s sensibilities about it!
=======================
V.5B “with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.”
-AN IMPORTANT POINT...WHEN IT COMES TO WORSHIP MUSIC-
(The words..... “do matter”
And the message..... “does matter”:
--------------------------------------------------
And the words....must be understood!
=======================
V.6 “With trumpets and sound of cornet”
“make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.”
-THE REASON.....THESE THINGS MATTER DURING WORSHIP-
(Because God is present with us
As we worship Him!
“.......before the LORD”
--------------------------------------------------
Qt. Matt.18:20 “For where two or....”
=======================
V.7 “Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;”
“the world, and they that dwell therein.”
-ALL CREATION......IS IN DEBT TO THE LORD-
(Even the fish of the sea
Which God has created for a purpose:
----------------------
There is a great mystery...in lower forms of life:
Because after all..... “God created them”:
Even though their life is temporal!

Note: The Bible teaches us to have respect:
For all life....and the Earth God has given us!
------------------------
Job 38:41 “Who provideth for the raven his food?..”

V.8 “Let the floods clap [their] hands: let the hills be joyful together “
-THE RIVERS AND THE MOUNTAINS.....HAVE THEIR JOBS TO DO-
(Just like the “ink”....used on a scroll
It’s just “ink”...but it prints the Word of God:

Just as the beauty of nature:
Points unsaved men to the Creator!

V.9A “Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth:”
-SOMETHING WE ALL.......ARE TO BE REJOICING IN-
(God's coming judgement
--------------------------------------------------
Because it’s going to set everything right!
=======================
V.9B “with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.”
-THE COMPLETENESS....OF GOD’S COMING JUDGEMENT-
(Having one judgement for “things”
And another judgement for “people”:
------------------------
See Psalms 96:12-13
--------------------------------------------------
(1)The Earth will welcome God’s judgement:
(Because “it” will be respected once again!)
------------------------
(2)But people....will hide from God’s judgement:
(Because they ignored His truth!)
