    If I did an hour of exercise every day for 60 years - that's about 20,000 hours or about 10 work-years doing something I hate, I might have ultimately lived 5 years longer? (or did I drop a decimal place?)

    Not a fair exchange! I've already lived 69 years and have no complaints. Should make my alloted 3 score and ten.

    You may have hated it initially, but how you would have felt for the majority of those years could have been even better...and extended your life well past the 5 years you figured, with better quality. God gave us bodies to take care of for a reason.
