Maybe if I grab a hold of tinytim's coat tails, I'll indiscretly slip into a click

I apologized to JerryL last time around, I felt bad and was out of line. Imo, sometimes it's too heated to apologize. Probably depends upon the topic. Everyone be nice to him ok....:)

    Paul,
Here are some of the cliques I have noticed here.

The my opinion of the Bible is inspired clique
The Pharisee clique, live like I do my life, according to how I read the Scripture
The lets guess other's salvation clique
    The King James clique
The my definition of a New Testement church is correct clique
The Baptist (one wonders which type) is the only true church clique.
    The Calvin clique
    The free will clique

    Republican apologist clique
    Democratic apologist clique

Wherever a group of people assemble over a period of time, inescapably there are going to be cliques.

Cliques are a way of life. Could be a good thing, but it could also be a bad thing. It depends on how a person looks at it.

RD2, don't play passive aggressive with me. Remember "You, young lady, are the problem and not the solution....." quote? Well, I do. Well, talk about self righteousness. You claim to be the victim whenever your views are not shared. It's a DEBATE forum, not a social gathering, not a clique, not a club.

    James 2:1-9 (KJV)
1: My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
    2: For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3: And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5: Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6: But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7: Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8: If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

This thread just didn't click with me.

Of course there are groups who have special relationships (same school, same doctrinal interpretations, same type of Baptist, etc). These are bonds that are very real and special.

"Clique" is a negative word with "snobbish" and "narrow coterie" in Webster's dictionary.

We have 25-30 well-defined groups on the BB. I would not think of calling them "cliques" with the baggage of that word. I relate well to some and poorly to others. None are "snobbish"; if you agree with particular issues, you fit in with them.

The self-pity, negative and judgmental bunch I will leave for others.

I just figured out my problem...

I am in about 10 cliques, and they all oppose each other...

You should hear the voices in my head disagreeing with each other...

"Bubba, hold on, I'll let you type next!!!"

Hey, you all, this heres bubba... tiny is a heretic, he believes he is right all the time... you should hear what he is thinking about me!

Bubba, will you go set down in the corner, the chair has not recognized you... you don't have the right to speak....

From deep within, Billybob speaks.... "I move we throw Bubba out of our Clique"

Bubbas wife, wilma lee, speaks up... "YoU just try and throw him out, and see what I tell old lady jenkins about you!"

Tiny finally gains control of all his "friends"

OK, I am back... Now where did I put my Drivers license?

Bubba, did you give them to Ed?

I'm too unique to fit into any clique.
The IFB's can't get me to wear skirts and headcoverings, the SBC's don't like my classical music, the American Baptists can't understand why I like the King James Version, the Calvinists can't entice me to debate with them, and Tiny Tim has hidden my rolling pin for smacking his multiple personalities.

Yes. There are two--those who agree with me and are therefore correct and those who disagree with me and are therefore incorrect.

A Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new
dog. Ever mindful of the congregation, they knew the dog must also be a Baptist. They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs. Finally, they found a
kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted.

The owner brought the dog to meet the pastor and his wife. "Fetch the Bible," he commanded. The dog bounded to the bookshelf, scrutinized the books, located the Bible, and brought it to the owner.

"Now find Psalm 23," he commanded. The dog dropped the Bible to the floor, and showing marvelous dexterity
with his paws, leafed through and finding the correct
passage, pointed to it with his paw. The pastor and his wife were very impressed and purchased the dog.

That evening, a group of church members came to
visit. The pastor and his wife began to show off the dog, having him locate several Bible verses.
The visitors were very impressed. One man asked, "Can he do regular dog tricks, too?" "I haven't tried yet," the pastor replied.

He pointed his finger at the dog. "HEEL!" the pastor commanded. The dog immediately jumped on a chair,
placed one paw on the pastor's forehead and began to
howl. The pastor looked at his wife in shock and said, "Good Lord! He's Pentecostal !"

Back to your regularly scheduled topic.

cliques or no cliques, there are some people we relate to better than others or have similar opinions to. Is that a bad thing? Peter James and John were a clique. The disciples as a whole was a clique. It happens.
