Notice the boundary between "saved" and "heretic" is said to be "the RCC" in the above quote.

Lets see now what level of freedom that left for the RCC to deal brutally with "heretics".

There is no salvation outside of Christ. The church is irrelevant in salvation, as the church is composed of those already "in Christ".

HOUSTON... we have a problem then because

Mt:23:34: Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city

Mk:13:9: But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

In a way the creator of this thread is completely correct. In spirit, Christ will build HIS church. There is no earthly church which is built of stone or wood. The heart! The only way.

    CORRECT! [IMG]

Church is composed of those already saved, already born again in Christ by the Holy Spirit.

The Title of the thread sounds stupid!

Seems according to scripture, you are SAVED to the kingdom. The 1000 yr period of rest. What happens after that? How many books are opened?

Well im gonna say this now cause i know its true. Catholics will not be saved. Baptist will not be saved. JWs will not be saved. Mormans will not be saved. Sorry guys, but according to scripture, many of you people in those religions might find eternal life but.... You will not be saved to the kingdom. The few and the many. I really hope that all here will find eternal life. I really do. After all, the Word says seek and ye shall find. You wont find God in a worldly church. But you will find Him in the written Word.

    Eternal life?

Follow those commandments which deal with man. Forget about God. Ghandi, Sittin Bull? A shortcut worth attaining? Nope! But it is 2nd best.

If Jesus said that THE CHURCH would stone the prophets and kill and crucify many who God had sent to them to "correct" the church... then how are these people supposed to find salvation IN or FROM the Church?

Notoriously, "the Church" Has persecuted those who have tried to correct their falsehoods.

I'd hate to think Jesus Christ wouldve had to find salvation IN the Church! They crucified Him.

Does anyone here think it is any different now?

They didnt treat John the Baptist much differently either.

Unless maybe I am misunderstanding what nate means by 'There is no salvation outside of the church'

I have something to say to you. First, you do not ask the church for forgiveness, you ask Christ Jesus, you learn through the Word of God the Bible, your blueprint in life. I would hate to think just because you do not attend a church that you can not be forgivin. That is not what Jesus says. I forgot what the Word says but it goes like this. "There is no other way to get to the Kingdom of Heaven except through Me, any one who thinks different decieves himself." See God and for that matter Jesus wants you to be around people who love Him. He does say "Where two or more are gathered in my name there I am amoung them.' With that if you are talking and praising God with someone else there He is amongst you. sometimes Churches say they are the church of Christ or whatever when they are really not. I would much rather be with one person who believes in Christ than a whole church who does not.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    John 7:
7: Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep .
8: All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9: I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Since the Christains are the church, the answer is yes.

To clarify this, I mean that Christians are saved. If one is not a Christian then one has not salvation.

But of course, that salvation is ONLY by Christ.
