This is ONE of the things that gripe me in our "modern" politically correct lives...

the usage nowadays in History, Archeology, Science, etc. of CE (replacing BC) and BCE (replacing AD) to identify dates.

Source Only to document meanings of CE and BCE

Another method of kicking Christ or anything to do with God out of our everyday lives. It really gripes me.

    Ladyeagle,
I agree with you. I still use BC and Ad as I still use pounds and ounces and still work out the cost of things in pounds, shillings and pence.

    Blessings

No evil liberal plot. Since 80% of the world is NOT Christian, it is arrogant of Western Civilization to push their Latin agenda of language.

Academics of all backgrounds (including me) use the NON-offensive BCE and CE often. I forget on occasion. [IMG]

Hrm. I don't have a problem with this in principle, but it just seems stupid.

Call me a cynic, call me a pragmatist, whatever, but I tend to think we have better things to do than running around and altering our dating methods. Like, oh, taking care of the hungry, for one. What 'research group' spent thousands of dollars to come up with this new and improved system? THAT is what irks me.
