I am giving thought to starting a new publication. Many agree with me that The Sword of The Lord is not what it used to be. I would like to think it is possible to start something along the lines of what Dr. Rice had going.
I would start it up as a web page and go from there. I would be interested in any sound advice I could get. I will also be looking for contributing articles.

Aren't there already a number of "e-zines" attempting to do such?

    Dr. Bob,
I do not know.Would you have there internet addresses? Also the intent is not to remain an E-zine but to eventually go into newspaper format.

If it is the Lord calling you to do this, do it. Otherwise, DON'T DO IT!

Just be sure it is principled and outspoken.

"A magazine which is not outspoken, and is destitute of principle is a literary nuisance." C.H. Spurgeon

Have you paper be FREE. Get all the $$ from advertising up front, and offer paper for donation, not subscription.

Then offer it in bulk to churches (like bundles of 25 - if a church is large, it can ask for multiple bundles) and that will help shipping.

We have a weekly and a monthly paper in Casper that operates this way. They get MORE $$ than expenses/labor from ads.

Of course I want to be sure this is God calling.I suppose I am still timid so starting with the web site is sort of a fleece to be sure of what I am doing and that it is God calling. If it is Him it will be blessed.
Dr. Bob thankyou for the good suggestions they are much appreciated.
Of course you all realize I put this up on the board to get all of the good advice, counsel, and ideas I can.
