We call Mary blessed and it is true that she showed grace yet grace is not found in the beatification of the mother of Christ.

We call the Christ child in a manger the greatest gift yet it is the adult Christ on a cross that is given for all to have remission of sin.

Only in The empty tomb can grace be found and its testament of emptiness is why we call Mary blessed, the child precious and the cross our glory.

"Unto us a child is born" - This addresses the human need, and it is what we most commonly remember.

"Unto us a Son is given" - This addresses our spiritual need, and we should never forget this fact.

Both prophecies fulfilled in the person of Jesus.

Yep, because He had to be born in order for Him to die. This is how God ordained to redeem His people, and it is a most precious gift.

Also, because the Word became flesh, no human being can now ever say to God ... "but Lord you don't know what it's like to be human"
