Inactive! It says behind the name that this is the Largest Christian forum online! If that's true what sad state of affairs for the Christian world. Is it so dead because the environment is to sterile?

Makes you wonder why Baptist members are not promoting the forum at their church, either on the bulletin board or in their bulletin for them to take home as a reminder that this site is available for fellowship and for asking questions to grow in their faith as Baptists in the Baptists Only part of the forum.

Maybe the forum administration can e-mail out invitation to pastors at Baptist churches to join?

I do not go to church, having no denomenation, and so I cannot help there. I was former Presbyterian, but now just a christian, leaning on Jesus Christ as my Good Shepherd to represent Him in Christ's love and not any church.

Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. :)

That's too bad, and you come across cavalier and super-spiritual over this. You're leaning so much on Jesus yet have abandoned His Bride, exhortations, and solemn warnings? Wow. Hebrews 10:25, 1 John 2:19?

Good for you. Most modern day churches are just platforms to chat the crafted meme to the simple minded.

That seems intelligent. Chase off everyone who disagrees. We wouldn't want to take a chance on getting asked a question we don't have the answer to.

It might just be that you are not aware of all the boards and conversations going on.

Can I ask you what denomination, if any, you are a part of? There is a matter of denominational specific topics that some get involved in. Here a big debate is between an Arminian and Calvinist view. So it may be that I can present a topic you might be interested in, which may draw others into the fray.

Already asked in another thread, again I ask, were men born again before Pentecost?

Here's another: Can salvation be lost?

How about this: are you amil or pre-mil?

While I would agree the forum seems a little slow (I am just popping in for a few days) right now, but it can get pretty involved. The trick is just stirring up the right conversations.

How about this question: when are men placed in the Book of Life?

Anyway, give it some time, and remember...conversation demands at least two people being involved. Now what will you do to turn a "dead" forum into an active, on fire for the Lord forum?

    God bless.

The simple fact is that those who are involved in Forums stand apart from the general body in that they are more involved in the Word of God. In my experience the worst thing one can do is approach a Pastor in regards to debate or even discussion. Many will feel you are questioning their knowledge and doctrine.

While I do not view Hebrews 10:25 to apply in this context (meaning it warns about having good church attendance), I will say that I have found fellowship in a local fellowship important from an accountability standpoint. I think it helps for us to be among other believers, and while we can do that in other ways, it's really not the same.

In the years I have been going to forums I have actively tried to encourage people to do likewise, because I know it is a means of accelerated study, and it helps us to consider the doctrine of others, but the sad reality is that very few actually get involved. Again, we are a little different than the general body and have a desire to be in the Word of God more than the average believer.

So you're stuck with those that here...

    ;)

    God bless.

    Thanks, brother.

Unfortunately, iniquity has abounded in the area where I live where faith is hard to find as churches will defend their works in their commitment to follow Christ to even the Promise Keepers' program. They do not stop there either as they keep binding believers to make promises that they are supposed to be trusting Jesus Christ for.

I had shared the reproofs by the scripture to my former church; written an article to the editor that got published; put paid ads in with scripture to expose PK program as not of Him; and even written letters to all the churches in the phone book; even Catholic ones, and only got a few responses, mostly by phone, seeing nothing wrong with it but want me to go to church anyway.

I withdrew my membership to admonish my former church to show the seriousness of this iniquity, but to no avail.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Also, I have been defamed to the point of no return. I am something to be tolerated. A charity case. They will not hear me now. I have enemies that will gossip and slander so that they will even despise me.

Keeping the faith is the good fight. I can only hope I am abiding in Him in these trying times.

But thank you for your concern, brother. I do trust the Lord to lead me otherwise even if in my mind, I do not believe He wants me to have local fellowship. I trust Him to lead me to church if that is His will, but according to the scripture, I do not see how it can be.

    I reckon so.

People do shy away from asking questions in church which I believe it is because they are afraid that it will make them look stupid or be seen as making waves.

I think that is true for many, though in general I have not found many who are actually all that interested in the Word of God. But I believe God gifts some among the Body to be involved in areas dealing with the Word, and not all members are gifted like that. I think we have all probably heard preachers which we thought "missed their calling," lol.

    God bless.

And yet Christ commanded that His disciples make disciples of other believers.

Mayhap, since there are other churches in the area, the church does not want to stress discipleship or correction for fear of losing church members.

It would be no wonder why the last church addressed in Revelation was neither hot nor cold.

When you do finally find a perfect church don't go. You will only mess it up.

So your answer is for the Catholics to remain in the RCC then?

If not.... then why not? Lack of faith. Double-mindedness. Iniquity. Not following after the traditions in the KJV as taught of us. Refusal to be corrected by the scripture in the KJV.

If you do not give grace to someone that says that they do not believe anything that the RCC teaches and that they do not participate in the Mass, but go there regularly attending while all that stuff is going on, then why would you give me grace to those same type of offenses of lack of faith; double-mindedness, iniquity, and not following after the tradition taught of us in the Protestant churches that refuses to avoid reformation because it might offend someone and leave?

It's one thing to know that there is no perfect church, but it is another thing when you can't grow in the faith while you are there so you can strive to be perfect with Christ's help & His strength.

Philippians 3:3 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Jesus did ask the question about faith which hints at the prophesy about just how bad everything will be before He comes as the Bridegroom.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

How does advice to someone not attending a church become advice to a Catholic?
