This Is What I have Noticed

Discussion in 'General Baptist Discussions' started by RightFromWrong, Sep 12, 2005.

  1. I have noticed when someone asks me for proof on something and I find it for them or am able to show them their error. They never respond again.
( Pride I'd say ) If someone is able to SHOW me where I am wrong, I will let them know hey thanks I agree, or hey I didn't see that, or I hadn't thought about that before.

Whats up with all the pride here, I also notice there are some who NEVER acknowledge another persons post even when they themselves AGREE with them, but others acknowledge their post when they agree.

To me as Christians on a Christian board we should be encouraging one another, standing up for the truth, and not be allowing heresy. I come off strong sometimes because I do not want a baby Christian or anyone who is learning not to be taken in by FALSE doctrine ! As obviously so many are, as I now see. I was surprised so many Baptist disagreeing on essential issues. Shocked me ! I also see there are some who may not even be saved, who are sharing false doctrine. Of course I do not know their heart.

I know I have had a few tiffs with a few people and no matter what that will happen as even in written word personalities will clash.

I am not one to argue a point I have either not studied thoroughly myself, can it back up with scripture or am not open to the truth that I might be wrong. Although I try to stay away from things I do not have a clear understanding on and just read everyone elses post to learn.

Anyone else see the same things ?

"Anyone else see the same things?"

Yep, but on the other hand could be their choice not to respond for any one of a number of reasons, not especially meant to upset anyone, nor a sign of "pride." Boards are boards and haven't seen one that wasn't that way at times.

"I have noticed when someone asks me for proof on something and I find it for them or am able to show them their error."

We will assume no pride intended here :D

Oh, by the way I probably won't be responding if anyone responds so don't take it as pride.

Some of us read more than we post.

Some of us may not agree, but we do not like to argue after we have made our point and given our opinion.

As far as pride, pride may be exhibited by thinking that one's opinion, belief, or doctrine is the only possible opinion, belief, or doctrine.

Having the last word or the last post does not necessarily win the debate.

When Peter speaks of Paul, one learns more about Peter than they do Paul.

  5. exscentric..... I didn't make that comment in Pride. to me some things speak for themselves. If that wasn't true then why study Gods word at all, why don't we all just agree to disagree. What hope do we have in God or his wrod if NONE of it is really true.

You have essentials to Gods word that hold true for every Christian wether they believe it or not.

Some things are nonessential but by deeper studying of Gods word there can be found more truth than a light study of it.

Some things are considered gray areas, where one must find "principles" to apply and we have liberty in, as people under grace.

We are not going to go to Heaven and all these different " opinions " are going to be true. Either we are raptured before the Tribulation, during or after. ONLY ONE veiw is TRUE.
Either we can lose our salvation or we can't.
Either ALL babies and mentally challenged go to heaven or they DON'T.

So I do not apoligize for being Dogmatic on some issues. If we cannot DEFEND what we believe to OTHER Christians then how will we be able to deal with false teaching of NON CHRISTIANS

2 TIM. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the WORD of God.

I have read what could be perceived as pride in some of your own posts, RFW. [IMG]

    Gershom,

I would like to take this opportunity to also encourage you as a brother in Christ by letting you know that I have noticed it too, and that I agree with you. [IMG]

We could all use a little encouragement, brother Joseph. Amen.

And we could all use an extra dose of humility.

    Hey RFW,

I cannot find your reply about what Paul meant by "on the third day". Could you point me to it? Thanks.

  14. Well I have to say if more people would back me up when I say something they agree with, I myself wouldn't have to defend my point. I have gotten pm's from people who agree with things I say but are too afraid to back it up with a post themselves. I have no problem backing someone up if they say something I agree with. There is strength in numbers.

I am sorry if I am not as tackful as others. I have tried to do my best. I know the fact I am a women wasn't to my advantage. So I will take all these male comments with a grain of salt. If I am being attacked like I have on one thread, I have every right to defend myself. That I do not apolgize for.

Thanks for the input know I know some of your true feelings.

    What list?

    Joseph Botwinick

  18. Joseph if you are so gun ho for the truth as you claim where were you when certain people said

That a Christian could lose his salvation

That babies do not go to Heaven

That the verse saying Born Of Water meant Baptism

That one can be blotted out of the book of life.

Or do you agree with all these views ?

You sure show your face when it comes to putting women down

I was probably at work or with my family, or perhaps those topics didn't interest me, or perhaps I still don't know what I believe about some of those topics, and therefore, chose not to speak about things without knowledge. Or, perhaps I have discussed a certain issue till I am blue in the face and chose to let it go as others already know where I stand. If you will look at my registration date, you will know that I have been here a long time and have probably discussed many of these issues. If you want to know where I stand, why don't you go to the archives going back to 2000, do a search for my name, and read what I think about things. Please, however, be sure to read all five years of my posts, as I have actually changed my mind on some things. Also, be careful not to be too judgemental of me when you barely know me or anything about me. I will chalk your last post up to ignorance with a hint of arrogance to think you know what I am all about after a whole 3 months as a registered member.

RightfromWrong, friendly word of advice. Why not just hush up. You are only making a fool of yourself. Your pride is oozing from every post and it is not becoming a believer.

    You're welcome.
