For all nations to be against Israel at the end, Israel has to be a nation. It also has to be a strong one to be a threat to major powers(they are growing). For all nations to go to war with Israel, there has to be motivation. For Islamic nations the reason is there. For the west it might be oil, or intervening in a war. Doesn't matter, all nations will be against her. War, and then the end. "This generation
(1948) shall not pass without all these things(rapture, armeggdon, etc) coming to pass." These signs are a joy for Christians. Redemption draws near.

Questioning whether or not a discussion board of professed christians (required to be a member) if they "are ready" deserves scorn because it questions the authenticity of these christians salvation.

If GISMYS wants to discuss the finer points of eschatology, there are better ways to start the discussion.

Only a person who is unsure about their salvation would be offended at someone else questioning it. A sure believer is steady in belief, questions and doubts carry no weight.

Doesn't answer the question. Nothing in 1 Thessalonians indicates there is a separate rapture and second coming event. You are injecting a premise that is not there.

Who does not know that there are millions of church goers and message board posters that do not have Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Lord Lord they will say did we not do many great works in your name? But Jesus will say,"depart from me into the lake of fire for I never knew you!!! and you????

No doubts here about being ready or the error of rapture wishing eschatology.

''THE CATCHING UP" is the rapture! I choose to believe God's Word and ignore silly little man's ideas and opinion. Believe God's Word==15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.

Nope. When the second coming happens, I'll be with Jesus. Won't have to wait a mythical seven years as you suggest.

One scripture, that's all, just one, that says there is going to be a rapture separate from the second coming. Something so important should be mentioned at least once.

    BELIEVE God's Word!!
    Thessalonians 5:9 ►
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Luke 21:36
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.

Says who? Not the text. What does the word "meet" indicate will happen, how was that used at the time of Paul's writing?

It was the word used to describe going out to meet a visiting dignitary and then returning. In this case it would mean returning to earth, just as the second coming is described elsewhere in scripture. One event, the second coming. The text does not support of a rapture event, seven years of waiting then a separate second coming.

PRAY!! Maybe Jesus will allow you to be left behind if you really want. Believers will be ""CAUGHT UP"" to meet Jesus in the clouds. But at the return of Jesus to earth to set up His kingdom He will touch down on the mount of olives in Jerusalem.==========Now enough!!! you will not be allowed to waste my time.

Wrath is not tribulation. We are to expect tribulation, Jesus' prayer in John makes that clear. Wrath is final judgment for rejecting God, believers don't suffer God's wrath.

Strangely the didn't listen to Jesus, instead they barricaded themselves into Jerusalem, Titus laid siege and all that Jesus predicted would happen did happen. The destruction of the Temple happened already, they could have escaped, but didn't listen.

In 1 Thessalonians 1:10 we read,
"And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."
Seven years before His Second Coming to earth Christ will take the sealed scroll from God’s hand in Heaven. He will begin to open the scroll by breaking its seven seals one at a time. He thereby will unleash three series of divine judgments upon planet earth: First, seven seal judgments (Revelation 6-7); second, seven trumpet judgments (Revelation 8-11); and third, seven vial or bowl judgments (Revelation 12-18).

These judgments will involve an outpouring of God’s wrath upon Satan’s domain. They will wreak havoc throughout the earth and throughout all of humanity. Just as a modern-day armed force inflicts a heavy, prolonged bombardment on an enemy’s domain before it invades, so Christ will inflict this heavy, seven year bombardment on Satan’s earthly domain in preparation for His invasion of it at His Second Coming.

I don't disagree that believers will be caught up, text says so. What it doesn't say is that there is a separate rapture event from the second coming. One event for belivers to look forward to, the second coming of Jesus.
